Cold IPA is a blast from the past. Back to the days when big,
bold, and hoppy reigned supreme. Brewed with the
precision and technique of a lager, it’s everything you love
about West Coast IPAs – dialed up to 11. Hopped aggressively
with decidedly dank varietals and fermented cool with a
clean yeast strain normally used for lagers, this is a nostalgic
IPA – crisper, cleaner, and hoppier than ever

Great view of Downtown Montreal from that belvedere.
Mount Royal (French: mont Royal, IPA: [mɔ̃ ʁwajal]) is a hill in the city of Montreal, immediately west of downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the city to which it gave its name.
The hill is part of the Monteregian Hills situated between the Laurentians and the Appalachians. It gave its Latin name, Mons Regius, to the Monteregian chain.
The hill consists of three peaks: Colline de la Croix (or Mont Royal proper) at 233 m (764 ft), Colline d'Outremont (or Mount Murray, in the borough of Outremont) at 211 m (692 ft), and Westmount Summit at 201 m (659 ft) elevation above mean sea level.
The park contains two belvederes, the more prominent of which is the Kondiaronk Belvedere, a semicircular plaza with a chalet, overlooking downtown Montreal. Built in 1906, it is named for the Petun chief Kondiaronk, whose influence led to a major peace accord between the French, Iroquois and other First Nations in 1701. As of 2009, the Kondiaronk chalet's snack bar is being shuttered, with plans to replace it with healthier fare.
Other features of the park are Beaver Lake, a small artificial lake; a short ski slope; cross-country skiing trails; a sculpture garden; and Smith House, an interpretive centre. At the foot of the hill, overlooking Park Avenue, the park features George-Étienne Cartier Monument, home to the Tam Tams, and a gazebo which has been recently named in honour of Mordecai Richler.
The lush forest was badly damaged both by mayor Drapeau’s morality cuts (to remove any opportunity for people to have sex in the bushes) of the mid-1950s and by the Ice Storm of 1998, but has since largely recovered. The forest is a green jewel rising above downtown Montreal, and is known for its beautiful autumn foliage as well as extensive hiking and cross-country ski trails. Biking is restricted to the main gravel roads. (Wikipedia)

This IPA is hazy with remarkable characteristics. The flavor explodes in your mouth with notes of citrus sweetness rounding to a soft malt body balanced with tropical hops.

When in 1954 great car enthusiast António Gonçalves' "Lusito", a small prototype vehicle, broke down right next to Monteiro da Conceição's workshop a partnership was born which led to "Indústria Portuguesa de Automóveis – O Quadriculo Lda", the company which would create the first Portuguese car. This enterprise took the concept of his Lusito and its inadequacies, and after much experimentation, study, and trials, production planning faze had begun. From there the IPA 300 was born, with 2+2 (numberplate: DD-85-80) and Coupé (numberplate: BD–94–94) body styles it also sported a larger 300 cc, 2 cylinder, 15 Hp, 3 speed engine from the British Anzani Astra commercial vehicle than António's Lusito. With this two vehicles were developed intended as a pre-series of five and presented at the Portuguese Industry Fair of 1958.
Unfortunately the fate of this car was sealed as a petition sent by IPA was lost in bureaucracy and license for series production was opposed by the then Industry Secretary of State who favoured the national production of European and American branded vehicles.
I don't normally post things like this but I did just find out this was among 27,000 entries.
This is turning out to be a big week for me.
Hint: Stay tuned to Flickr this Friday....

De color rojizo y con una ligera pero cremosa espuma. Con aroma y sabor de toques afrutados y cítricos, caramelo y café provenientes de las maltas torradas y los lúpulos americanos. Al final del sorbo resalta un amargor suave.
An extra large dose of galaxy, citra and strata hops combined with the natural fruit forward flavours of Kveik yeast result in a Tropical fruit bomb! Enjoy notes of pineapple, passion fruit and mango in this ultra juicy NE IPA.

The Odd Fellow IPA celebrates the Odd Fellow English heritage with a British style IPA. Bold yet easy to drink this beautifully balanced ‘session’ IPA pays homage to the proud tradition of the Odd Fellows.
Our daughter and her boyfriend spent three weeks visiting the Western Isles.
I aways ask her to keep a lookout for some unusual bottles of beer,
This was a very nice IPA from Skye.
With refreshing pineapple and resinous evergreen notes, Shiny Things IPA is crisp, juicy, with a gentle bitterness. A generous addition of oats in the grain bill gives a luxurious mouthfeel and a sturdy vessel for the El Dorado, Equanot and Simcoe hops to shine through.
Wells IPA suffers from a common British problem: mislabeling. During the First World War, breweries (with the government!) decreased alcohol in beers to conserve resources (barley) as well as limit drunkenness among essential workers and the military. Hop levels were also reduced, so the traditionally strong and hoppy IPAs were the first in line to be emasculated. Breweries continued using the term though, but it described a pale ale or a bitter rather than the full-on flavour of an IPA.
Look into my eyes... you are getting sleepy, very sleepy...close your eyes and enter the vast realm of Mosaic hop flavour in this Imperial IPA. When you awaken you will feel enlightened, you will be one with the hop.
