On May 8, the 644th RSG conducted an award ceremony for all End of Tour awards, where Soldiers were presented with awards for their hard work and dedication throughout the 12-month mobilization to Fort Bliss, Texas, at the Mobilization and Deployment Division (MaD). In all, 15 Army Achievement Medls (AAMs) were awarded to Soldiers during the ceremony. Forty-four Army Commendation Medals (ARCOMs) were awarded. Four Meritorious Service Medals (MSM) were awarded to Maj. Anthony Donley, Sgt. Major William Dullea, Lt. Col. Matthew Pullman, and Sgt. First Class Steven Weiss.
The AAM is a military decoration of the U.S. Armed Forces, is awarded for meritorious service or achievement in either combat or noncombat situations based on sustained performance or specific achievement of a superlative nature but which does not warrant a Commendation Medal or higher.
The ARCOM is awarded to any member of the U.S. Armed Forces, other than General Officers, while serving in any capacity with the U.S. Army after Dec. 1941. Qualifying service for the ARCOM can be for distinctive meritorious achievement and service, acts of courage involving no voluntary risks of life, or sustained meritorious performance of duty.
The MSM is a military award presented to U.S. Armed Forces who distinguished themselves by outstanding meritorious achievement or service to the United States.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all Soldiers were available to receive their awards during this ceremony, due to mission requirements.
