Lincoln Fire Rescue responded for a reported multi-vehicle collision on the QEW Toronto-bound at Ontario Street Beamsville involving a transport truck/18-wheeler and two sedans. First arriving EMS units discovered a sedan facing the wrong was on the left shoulder (centre median), a transport truck on the right shoulder, and an overturned car in the right ditch. Witnesses reported the driver of the overturned vehicle got out and hopped a nearby fence, fleeing the scene. All other occupants suffered only minor injuries. The collision caused significant delays on the QEW while crews tended to the scene.

Scaling and root planning is a type of restorative dental procedure that involves the removal of calculus, plaque and stains stuck with the tooth below and above the gumline.
Scaling and Root Planning Procedure
The cost of scaling and root planning (deep cleanings) may depend on the dentist’s location and whether or not the patient has insurance.
Your dentist usually divides the procedure into two appointments. During the first appointment, they just clean the lower and upper quadrants of one side of your mouth. After then the remaining two quadrants are cleaned in the second appointment.
Teeth Scaling:
•Scaling is done either manually or with an ultrasonic instrument, like a Cavitron which involves an irrigation process that is used to pass an antimicrobial agent below the teeth gums to help decrease oral bacteria. Both of these techniques help remove hardened tartar and loosen plaque.
•The scalar is placed in the pocket along with the bevel at an angle between 45 and 90 degrees to the tooth to remove plaque and bacteria. The teeth and root surfaces are then cleaned and scraped in a circular, vertical, or horizontal motion.
Root Planning:
•Considerably, the four main components of teeth are dentin, cementum, enamel, and dental pulp. Root planing removes subgingival bacteria and smoothens rough surfaces.
•The procedure begins with a dentist cleansing deep below the gums to remove tartar and plaque that has been building upon the roots of teeth where the bones are getting affected by the infection. Planning involves the complete removal of cementum i.e. the calcified film which covers a tooth’s root.
•This procedure may also include the process of removing a small superficial layer of dentin, which is considered the second layer of teeth that get developed below the enamel.

Students at Misericordia University had the opportunity to attend the Involvement Fair on Thursday, September 2nd, in the Anderson Center. The fair gave students the opportunity to learn about the various clubs and organizations on campus and how to get involved.
I'm promoting the value of citizen involvement in improving our education system. More importantly - At SXSW a friend took this picture and when he posted it on twitter I was horrified at how obese I have let myself become. So this is a picture to motivate me to change my behaviors that leads to obesity.
