Fractal space invaders in Blender. Each pixel contains a copy of the space invader, for 3 levels. (You probably won't be able to make out the smallest ones). Is it just me or does this remind you of Stickle Bricks? :-)

Made a low res (13x10) black/white sprite in GIMP, scale up by 100 on both axes with no interpolation.

Used this black/white raster 3 times to generate each of the 3 "layers". Each layer uses a mapping node to scale the rasters in all 3 axes, then added the z values together with a math 'add' node to do the displacement. Shader is a mix of diffuse and ambient occlusion.

This is the neighbor's cat. She has many names. Her official name is Atia, but Katherine and I usually call her Invader Cat (because she come into our apartment like she owns the place) or Stumpy (because she's missing half of her tail).

Everyone is busy looking up at the Eiffel Tower, I'm more interested in looking up at Invader graffiti.

Invader in Paris.

A very cool custom, the "Invader" is a famous car built be Bob Reisner in the late 60's. It has TWO Pontiac 400 V8's, each driving a jag rear end! Taken at the 2009 Fresno Autorama.

It ain't practical, but it's COOL!
