International Women's Day (IWD), is celebrated on March 8th of every year. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political, and social achievements. This year's theme is Make It Happen, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women. You can learn more by visiting the International Women's Day global site.

Regarding the illustration, it's another example of the new style I'm working on. I gotta say, it's quite a bit more complex to render than my usual style. This piece in particular took about 6 hours to make (usually I spend 2 or 3 hours rendering, tops). But it's worth it. 11 x 17 inches, digital.

I'm slowly but surely figuring out how to get more control out of Corel Painter X by creating my own paintbrushes. I created this organic looking digital painting which resembles a hanging basket of flowers.

Okay, so it's just an Acer Gemstone Blue, right? Hmm, but what's that reflected in the screen? Could it be... a shoot-through umbrella poised in front of a monolight? I think so! Yes, a quick late night test of one of the lights that's been sitting here in a box since Thanksgiving. Let there be...

Beautiful Sunday morning at twilight in Taarbæk Harbor north of Copenhagen. Have been playing with HDR (Grunge) and my new graphics tablet Intuos.4 and complimentary colors. In addition, the thought of Rule of Thirds :-)

The final design of my Steampunk Wedding Dress

Created using the software Krita and a Wacom Intuos tablet.

Here's a painting I just finished up for a friend of mine to give as a Christmas gift. I created the art digitally (using Art Rage, Photoshop and Wacom Intuos), and then had it inkjet printed to canvas.

I then stretched it across canvas, sealed it with an acrylic coat, painted the edges out, and wired it for hanging.
