i am learning how to use my christmas present, a wacom intuos 3 graphics tablet.
this is from the lovely deepwarren's picture of the equally lovely Rae. flickr.com/photos/fuzzhead/338360555/
The leases are up at Panavision, so I finally got my new workstation.
8 core CPU, 16 Gb RAM, 3 x RAIDs, 30" plus a 24" monitor, Mk 3 Spyder monitor and printer calibrator, Wacom Intuos 3 tablet, etc. etc.
64 bit Windoze is buggy as hell.
Photoshop runs brilliantly under 64 bit (except for printing from Photoshop, which is useless).
Illustrator under 64 bit is terrible. Some functions in Illustrator CS3 don't work at all e.g. placing PSD files.
Quark is… Well Quark is Quark on the PC. I don't think it runs well on any PC.
I was almost starting to have buyers' remorse when it took me over an hour to set up and troubleshoot the display (only to realize I had calibrated for the wrong monitor *facepalm*).
Then I drew this in about 20 mins. Nothing creative, but drawing a face would give me a really quick idea of how much control I had.
For the most part I was happy with my old Intuos 3, but I couldn't have done the above without tracing, and even then it would have taken me 5x as long. It also solved the line shakiness issues I was having.
In the coming week or two I'll draw some more polished illustrations and vector work and post again in this set with notes.

Komik Dragonball ada sumber inspirasi & dijadikan latihan melukis sejak aku kecil lagi - dari lukisan tangan, ekspresi muka, lipatan baju & line mood pada background!
P/S: sori kalau tak serupa goku yg sebenar krn ini dilukis tanpa rujukan & hanya bdasarkan apa yg aku ingat pasal goku, & juga saja ubah ikut stail sendiri hehe :P
did a little experimenting with adding stars, layer mask is pretty rough but i dont have an intuos tablet yet :/
got really satisfactory results using a combination of felt tip marker pen, point and shoot camera, corel photopaint and some imagination.....so fun to beat Intuos !

I've also got some new IKEA Grono lamps hidden back there. I'm moving to my apartment in 2 days (8/15/09) and I will have all this stuff setup better on my new IKEA Fredrik desk too, so standby for some more awesomeness.

I have bought a few things over the last week online, and I grabbed a wacom intuos tablet. I bought it through ebay, so I may may got a dodgy one.
I'm pretty glad there are people out there interested in this photograph, originally from part of my collection found HERE
Apparently the comments says something ought to be done about the skin of the model. Well I decided to take up those advices, plug in my Intuos tablet and start repairing the already beautiful model and try within my capabilities to make her looks even more stunning. There you go, removal of stray hairs, smooth out the skin, brighten the eyes, enhance the lips colours and so forth.
Hope this make a better photograph and did justice to the model :)
Woohoo! Thanks for checking out my photo!!!
I find myself spending way too much time on forums and photo sharing sites. It's a bit of a problem :/ It does however provide ample inspiration and keeps me hungry to continue to learn more.
I'm loving composites at the moment. I've just bought myself an Intuos pen and touch pad. I'm excited for it's arrival to see the difference it will make in my post :)
