I am still pinching myself. After some technical gremlins on Wednesday, Laurence Whitaker interviewed me, live, on air, via the webcams. Wyoming Cowboy Challenge Academy Admissions, Placement, Mentor Assistant Paul Holloway briefs a group of cadets about the employment interview process at the Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center based academy. All cadets, toward the end of their 22 weeks at the National Guard Bureau-sponsored residential program, learn about the job seeking process and learn how to prepare for and conduct themselves in a job interview. Local business leaders and retirees volunteer for the mock interviewer positions, and offer constructive feedback to the cadets. Cowboy ChalleNGe’s mission is to provide a safe and professional learning environment for Wyoming youth 16-18 years old that graduates cadets with the values, education, life-skills and employment potential for a brighter future.

Lessons learned: 1) The Zi8 requires at least 4ft between subject and camera to lock focus on subject's face, 2) in order to create space for focus, you'll need to use an external mic.
Today was a busy day for Mingle Media TV’s Red Carpet Report Team. While at Hollywood and Highland to pick up their official media credentials for the Oscars, they stopped by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Awards Information Media Center who were hosting the 10th Annual Awards Media Center with Co-host L’Oreal Paris.
At this special event, the media attending were treated to the "hot dog to the stars” from Pink’s Hot Dogs, Hansen’s Water and Coconut Water, Village Pizzeria had bite size goodies and L’Oréal Paris had a great gift bag and a professional make-up artist on hand offering ttips on creating a glamorous red-carpet look.
While the RCR team were at the TCL Chinese Theatre they got to see first hand, the unveiling of the Anne Hathaway wax figure which was the second of twelve figures that the world famous Madame Tussauds Hollywood plans to unveil this year. You’ll be surprised to learn it too took 20 artists three months to create and only cost $300,000. Look closely at the figure - it captures Anne’s smile… or so we’re told. Tell us what you think.

Zachary Fabri’s Black Tape Ebony Frame celebrates the living moments of Fabri’s African American family and friends by creating a reel-to-reel analog audio recording of one-on-one conversations. Originally, the project was created to record his father’s stories as a political refugee from Hungary in 1956, but soon expanded to provide space to contemplate the heightened culture of police violence against Black people. Through these conversations, Fabri’s Session examines mortality and immortality as they relate to both remembrance and refusal.
After each conversation is recorded, Fabri will wind the audiotape around an ebony frame, sealing it and thereby preventing access to the conversation. The only information revealed from the conversation will be the name of the participants, date, and time. By intentionally complicating this accessibility to the conversations, Fabri invites viewers to consider the future problems of technological obsolescence, as well as possible ways to safeguard Black cultural content against commodification.
How do black people create and control their own content? What is the role and responsibility of cultural organizations to facilitate critical discourse? How are “Black Futures” protected? While these are valuable queries, the goal of Black Tape Ebony Frame is not data collection or in-depth interviews. For Fabri priority is placed on having organic, pedestrian, and meandering “stoop chats” where guests can discuss these questions openly. As such, the Session gallery will be transformed into a live recording studio influenced by the portrait studio photography practice of Seydou Keïta and Malick Sidibé.

Temperatures on this morning were well below freezing and some of the employees had a hard time giving interviews as they couldn't stop shaking.
