A high key black and white image looking up the iconic Cecil Brewer Spiral Staircase inside Heal’s historic flagship store on Tottenham Court Road, London. Designed in 1916 by architect Cecil Brewer, cousin of Ambrose Heal, this spiral masterpiece is acclaimed as London’s most photographed staircase. Featuring an elegant flow of steps and a dramatic helix of lights, modernized in 2013 with a bespoke Bocci chandelier. This landmark structure exemplifies the store’s dedication to design and innovation. The harmonious interplay of historic architecture, sweeping curves, and modern lighting make this staircase a bucket list subject for photographers and design lovers alike.

Hotel Hotel (Ovolo Nishi), New Acton Canberra. Architect: March Studios, 2013.
Part of the Nishi Building Complex
Two Temple Place is a late 19th‑century riverside mansion built for American financier William Waldorf Astor, designed as a richly decorated private office and residence near the Temple legal district. Its interiors mix Gothic Revival and Tudor inspired detailing, with elaborate woodwork, sculpture and stained glass that celebrate literature, history and craftsmanship.
The stained glass ceiling brings coloured light down into the heart of the staircase hall, emphasizing the vertical drama of the space and the building’s role as one of London’s hidden architectural treasures.

A glimpse into Düsseldorf’s Münster-Therme on Heritage Open Day 2025: From the ground floor, the full splendor of this 1902 Art Nouveau bathhouse unfolds. The spacious pool, surrounding changing cabins, and the striking domed ceiling reflect an era when public baths were not only functional but also architectural masterpieces.

This was a shot of Southwark station on the Jubilee Line of the London Underground. I really liked the colour of the walls as well as the shadow that is projected above the central light housing structure. This is also my first published shot from my new Fujifilm X-M5 camera!
Looking upward – the architecture turns into a sculptural form of light, line, and color. Between soft curves and clear edges, a space emerges that almost seems to breathe.
