Sunflower
Helianthus
Zonnebloem
The sunflower is part of the the daisy family Asteraceae.
Sunflowers attract attract beneficial insects, including pollinators like the honey bee.
Before blooming, sunflower plants tilt during the day to face the sun in order to gain more sunlight for photosynthesis.
In Greek mythology, the sunflower is associated with loyalty and devotion. In one story, a nymph named Clytie was besotted with the sun god Apollo. As a result, she endeavored to follow him wherever he went. While he was at first amused, Apollo eventually lost interest in Clytie and fell in love with another nymph named Leucothoe.
Heartbroken and jealous, Clytie told Leucothoe’s father about his daughter’s affair with the sun god. Naturally, the protective father moved to break off the relationship between his daughter and the powerful god.
Enraged at the interference, Apollo turned Clytie into a sunflower. Yet, even as a flower, Clytie continued to turn her gaze constantly towards the Apollo wherever he traveled.
And ofcourse, the flower is simply big and beautiful.
Enjoy.

"This result is due to a phenomenon of interference which occurs within the sensitive layer."

Are you scared to see me undisguised?
Words won’t matter when we’re hypnotized, unshaken by your spell
Caught you once, I won’t fall asleep now
Still afraid but you’re all I need now
Are you remote controlled? Interference
You’re infinite mine, I won’t let go now
(Interference)
(Interference)
I stay awake to see you crystallized
On the edge but now we’re magnetized, underneath your shell
Caught you once, I won’t fall asleep now
Still afraid but you’re all I need now
Are you remote controlled? Interference
You’re infinite mine, I won’t let go now
Caught you once, I won’t fall asleep now
Still afraid but you’re all I need now
Are you remote controlled? Interference
You’re infinite mine, I won’t let go now
You’re infinite mine, you’re infinite mine
You’re infinite mine, you’re infinite mine, interference
You’re infinite mine, you’re infinite mine, interference

The clouds challenged the Super Moon from peeking through - but some long exposure work (10 sec/f8/24mm/ISO 100) produced some wild tones and colors.

Urban landscape abstraction taken in Glasgow, Scotland. Since completion the curving lines of this glass sided building have become one of the most photographed pieces of architecture in the city and it is easy to see why.
I loved the bending of light and reflection in this shot with the interference pattern from the angle I had chosen. It may be a while until we see some blue skies here in Glasgow again though!

The coronation of King Saefiraen was a lovely event that was far more beautiful than I'd expected it to be. From the decor to the characters to the narration - the whole scene - it really brought to life the idea of fae that I've always had and I loved it.
During the event, I took a few snaps of pivotal characters (not as many as I'd have liked though because I was trying not to crash). The most pivotal was Saefiraen himself, the new King of the Court of Avis Teannadh.
King Saefiraen is played by Pryar Kirax. Saefiraen is not only roleplayed at Convergence: The Lost City, Pryar also co-owns/runs it with Z.

This juvenile peregrine falcon gave us quite a hard time in the desert. Finally she perched at a place on the ground long enough for us to get somewhat close and click. As luck would have it, the perch was exactly next to a pair of sandals abandoned by someone.
Instead of cropping, I decided to keep them in the frame and present the photo this way, showing the interference of wildlife and humans.
