You can insert the dial into the radio at any angle. The only contact that really matters is where the dial hits the tuning strip because that's the frequency you're tuning in. Material-wise, the metal pieces are brass.

Last minute work on the game assignment.

Initial mockup, proposed iPhone app. This application would be used by scientists attending conferences or reading research papers as a handy look-up functionality.
