After reversal at Staines Inter City liveried Class 37 No.37254 is now lead loco on Network Rail test train 1Q54 as it passes Virginia Water working from Eastleigh to Hither Green, the long way round!!.
Colas liveried 37219 is now taking a breather on the rear for this leg of the trip..

Just as i remember them having been just built at BREL Crewe Works at the open days as a youngster and in my mind the best livery that they've carried, not my best photo of an HST but certainly my last one of a CrossCountry Trains HST, as i came off the Metro heading back to my hotel in Sunderland i realised that this was coming through in an hour, so 'The Centurion' pub on Newcastle Central station came to the rescue.
Anyway this is Inter-City 125 liveried class 43 locomotive 43007 stands at Newcastle Central at 19.53 running 17 minutes down, on the front of the 1S51 13.27 Plymouth-Glasgow Central (22.13) Crosscountry Trains service.
It started on the 5th October 1981 and after 42 years of High Speed Trains on CrossCountry routes they bowed out of service on the 18th September 2023.
43007 was new to St Philips Marsh Depot depot in March 1976 in the formation of 253003 for use on the Great Western Mainline.
