It's not easy to select a hundred slides out of a collection of 1200. I deliberately avoided choosing only those I felt were the most beautiful in order to actually choose the most instructive. Iasked myself how U could tell the story of Expo 67 in one hundred photos. I don't take souvenir pictures - these photos essentially represent what impressed me, what struck me as I explored the site, or rather what struck a boy of thirteen in 1967...

I find it instructive to observe a bird while preening to learn the pattern of its feathers. This is Day 4 of the White-winged Dove in our garden. It has a couple of favorite perches that I've observed. I hope it stays around for a while. 18 Jun 2015
My parents flew up for Thanksgiving, just in time for dinner. Angela and Jenny started on the Thanksgiving foods. I'm not sure what they're doing here, but it looks instructive.
I live in a small and rather poor country. And, besides those we have in Açores, and they aren’t active, we don’t have any volcanoes.
Therefore, we build them.
This one is one of those we raised for the 1998 International Exhibition, used not just for decoration but also as a way of geting moister and fresh in the air. We still have on that area, some of the buildings done then, some used for musical or shows, some for commercial fairs, some for exhibits and, of course, the big aquarium.
Jokes and history apart, I’m a detail photographer, my main lens is a 70-300 Sigma and is quite rare to use the 18-55.
However, some times, I feel like I need to go back to my origins: add to my bag my still Asahi Pentax 50mm 1.7, with 32 years of good and loyal services in my hand. And, as you may know, use a hand held light meter.
Further more, it’s also fun to decide not to crop images or what so ever later adjustments.
Zooms are powerful tools. But going back to basics is fun and instructive. As well as playing with perspective, our main tool.

Hardwood School Spelling Board, Patented Feb. 16, 1886. The Patent No. is, 336266. Drawings of the board and the inventor's name, Alonzo F. Smith can be seen.
Alonzo F. Smith described the board as an educational toy "to amuse and instruct children", and alternatively as a way to advertise!
The 1/8" thick wooden letter discs can be moved around the slots to spell words in the central line. All 56 letters (including the Ampersand (&)), are original. There are two discs with worn out letters; the T and U both have a broken edge. The broken off piece from the T is included and can be easily glued back in place.
The Patent Date is clearly printed both top and bottom of the Board, and the lithographed ornate decoration is in excellent condition, as is the rich red and gold patina.
The board was apparently made by Selchow and Righter just after merging with The Instructive Toy Company.

The bottom hem, the back, and the right side are sewn. The armscyes, the left side (where the zipper will go), and the shoulders are not sewn.
I've kind of given up on the instructions which were getting less and less instructive. There was one step that kind of said "sew almost everything together, then clip seams, then turn right side out through a gap somewhere that we didn't tell you to leave..." So, I just started working on sections at a time.
Treatment for dyslexia commonly comprises of perusing mediations and other instructive devices and techniques. Medications are not used to treat dyslexia.

This beautiful and bleak memorial is to the revolutionary hero Rosa Luxemburg who was drowned by fascists in 1919 at this spot. Her most famous quote:
