What kind of art do you make in 15 seconds on a Mobile Phone?

The art of the mobile phone is the art of the hurried, the time starved, the always on. It is the art of waiting in lines, sitting in traffic, and mind numbing meetings. It is the art of the art of the exhausted, overworked american. Rather than the result of long hours of extended reflection it is the art of the pressured moment.
The mobile phone is the one device we have with us in these moments, and precisely because of its restrictiveness, it is ideally suited as an art machine. It’s products are the 140 character SMS message, the 15 second video, the grainy blur of a 640 x 480 cameraphone image. These are the microexpressions of the metatasker.
When time is sliced in ever finer increments, and we endure a daily war of attention, what kind of art can be produced in these circumstances? Real Time aims to explore these issues.
Rather than placing works that have been created beforehand in the space, each participating artist in Real Time will be provided a mobile phone that they will use over the course of the exhibition to generate images, video, and text. Most entries (microart pieces) will take less than a minute. This content will then be sent to the Contemporary from the phone and displayed via large projections and flat panel displays. It will also be accessible to the world via individual artist internet microblogs. Participating artists will send at least one entry every day the show is open. The result will be a series of up to 80 “micro art” pieces that will constitute, rather than a single piece, a continuum of discrete pieces that create a kind of narrative or sequence, or any conceptual frame the artists desires. Each artist is encouraged to interpret these working conditions differently.

Installed some time in the mid 2000s, this is a traffic calming chicane to prevent drivers from coming up the hill too fast.
Installing bulkheads. This one is the head of the centerboard trunk and the aft end of the foredeck. A deck beam will be fitted to it.
This project has been going on WAY too long, so last weekend I finally decided to cut back on some of my more grand ideas, get the thing installed and working, and THEN worry about all the other little tweaks and features I want.
I'm still waiting on the commercial release of Centrafuse, the demo version doesn't have a full set of maps for navigation, and I'm still working out some bugs in making it a bluetooth hands-free system, so for the moment this is just an incredibly elaborate media player.
Lightened 1.9 crank installed in the bored out 1.9 block. Bore is 3.75", so displacement is 1989 cc's. Pistons are TRW forged 265 Chevy pistons (long since unavailable!), and rods are stock forged Opel 1.9 rods with Kamax high strength rod bolts I got from Irmscher years ago.

We are centrally located to service the NY to Washington DC landscape market. We have 4 trucks on the road and make deliveries of our nursery stock as well as have 2 crews that can install trees and shrubs that we raise.
To keep our costs low we pool orders for delivery. If you order less than a truck load of materials. This way we can have a minimum delivery of just 1 tree to most locations!!!!
Our sons James and Michael both graduates of Delaware Valley College with degrees in Horticulture run the planting crews.
We grow hundreds of varieties of trees and shrubs. We have many that are deer resistant for use in screens and buffers. We also can install drip water lines for our stock.

Both spacers are now installed on the rear axle. I popped a little copper grease on the side that faces the brake disc to stop any corrosion. The original wheel bolts are just about 1-2mm too long so I'll either have to trim them with a saw or see if I can grind the ends down a bit
i was summoned today to help out with the air-ride install on marian's mk5 jetta. more so to help with the interior bits. besides running the lines under the car, and running the wiring through the interior i can't say i did a whole lot, but it was a good learning experience. no your eyes aren't deceiving you. he has two full sets of alphards. one chrome. and one black. he still can't decide which one he likes better!

3 October 09: Drive well and supporting frames are all done as is the final fitting of the sliding hatch and doghouse. Cockpit sidewalls have been installed as well. The 1/4 in. plywood sidewalls function as beams to replace moment of inertia sacrificed by the cockpit cutout. The hull is much stiffer now. The entire cockpit is complete except for the seat, which hopefully will be done shortly!
I heard guys simply put shingles from a demolished house in the same village to reclaim the material and bring down the cost of this communal project—the wind mill. The building goes slowly.
The team at SC Wake has got what it takes to tackle even the largest SeaDek projects. Just look at this 2015 Bravada Yachts houseboat that recently got an entire new aft deck and swim platform on Lake Powell, Arizona.
With the owners of this beautiful new boat complaining of burning feet on the original synthetic flooring, they knew that something had to be done so they could reclaim their aft deck and enjoy their sunny afternoons in comfort.

As the Twelfth Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation is coming to an end, a closing worship service celebrates the LWF Communion and a successful Assembly, and installing the newly elected LWF Council and President. The Twelfth Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation gathers in Windhoek, Namibia, on 10-16 May 2017, under the theme "Liberated by God's Grace", bringing together some 800 delegates and participants from 145 member churches in 98 countries.
