A-maze-ing Laughter is a group of 14 bronze sculpture by Yue Minjun, installed in Morton Park along the English Bay in West End, Vancouver, Canada in 2009.
The patinated bronze sculpture, composed of 14 statues each about 3 meters tall and weighing over 250 kg, portrays the artist's own image in a state of hysterical laughter. It was created as part of the Vancouver International Sculpture Biennale, which exhibits international contemporary works in public places.
The sculpture was donated to the City of Vancouver by Chip and Shannon Wilson through the Wilson5 Foundation on August 11, 2012.
As part of the installation, an inscription carved into cement seating states "May this sculpture inspire laughter, playfulness and joy in all who experience it."

Each April there is an exhibition of installation art at the ABQ botanic gardens. I missed it this year. While looking back through photos I discovered this not yet posted one from last year's.

Shot across from an installation art mural in the Place des Arts hallway. Waited several minutes for this exact type of catwalk capture. Probably had a few wondering what I was doing standing in that hallway for that long.

The performance involved the artist moving in a slow, contemplative improvisation, while releasing colored inks from a water carrier ~ body sculpture, onto papers arranged on the floor in front of the audience present, and intimate, within a few feet of the mindful, concentrated attention, performative action.

It's sometimes difficult to know where contemporary art starts and where it ends... When I first photographed this installation, I wondered if this yellow lighting device was part of the installation or used merely as a lighting tool... LOL In any case, I thought the whole set was very photogenic!

Installation art
This temporary installation art, called "the third space", was built by 52 interior design students. It consists of almost 1.300.000 cable ties. The students worked on it for about 16.870 hours. Visitors can sit down in cocoon-like bird's nests, stand under a shower of light, and experience this 200 square meters small world, that tries to translate sociological terms like self-portrayal, community and retreat into tangible spatial situations.
