Replacing the leaky skylight in my wife’s Florida house. It leaked constantly during Tropical Storm Nicole.

Just for fun. Super wide angle shot inside a washing machine. In camera stiching. Retouching in post.

Squatina squatina (Angel Shark)

A view on the way up to Silver How, taken with my Insta360 One R action camera, which has a one inch sensor and a Leica-branded lens. It produces great stabilized video right out of the camera and shoots stills in raw DNG format. Unfortunately it only has a tiny 1-inch screen on the back to compose with, so it is easy to chop the tops off trees!

Today I bought myself an Insta360 x5 camera, something I've been itching to use and see what I can create. This is the first upload from this handy little camera.

It's also been an afternoon of frustration trying to figure out how to export a YouTube video to Facebook and actually display a thumbnail!! I know which buttons to press but they ain't working!!

So annoyance to one side, I made this image instead. I placed the camera on the selfie stick and mini tripod then hid behind a tree while the camera fired.

Photo taken on my Insta360 1-inch sensor action camera, on the way down from Bowfell in the Lake District, on a ridge known as The Band. The tops of Crinkle Crags remain hidden by the "clag".

Despite the constant cloud and rain it was a fantastic walk, during which I never managed to get my main camera or either lens out of my rucksack.

One day I hope to have time to put together a highlight reel of the video taken with this camera.

Above Southwold on Wednesday afternoon

On a night drenched in floodlights and roaring under the roof of Lyse Arena, history was reborn. In front of 15,900 ecstatic fans, Viking FK delivered a masterclass — a 5–1 victory over Vålerenga that ended a 34-year wait and crowned them Norwegian champions for the first time since 1991.

From the first goal by Edvin Austbø to the final whistle, the pitch became a canvas of collective dreams — players, supporters and city fused into one jubilant tide. By full-time, 71 points stood on the board, one more than rival Bodø/Glimt, sealing Viking’s 9th league title.

When the whistle blew, the fences fell. The field flooded with people: cheers, tears, raised scarves — a human mosaic drenched in dark blue. The air vibrated with chants, relief and pure euphoria. For a moment, time stood still.

This is more than a trophy. It’s a story of resilience, of generations bound by football, of a city rediscovering its heartbeat. And tonight, under these lights, Viking reminded the world: legends never die — they just wait for the right moment to rise again.

My new 360 degree camera

Above the frozen forest near Austervefsen in Trofors, Nordland, a sea of fog drifts like a soft veil, hiding the valleys below. To the east, Skinnfjellet and Nerlifjellet rise under a crisp blue sky, their snow-dusted peaks catching the first light of day. This aerial view captures the serene interplay of winter silence and rugged Norwegian wilderness—a timeless moment where earth meets sky in quiet harmony.

Fun Fact

Trofors is the administrative center of Grane municipality in Nordland and lies along the river Vefsna, a popular destination for salmon fishing. The surrounding mountains, including Skinnfjellet and Nerlifjellet, are part of the scenic Helgeland region, known for its dramatic landscapes and untouched nature.

A mesmerizing perspective from Torghatten in Brønnøy, Northern Norway — a place shaped by nature and legend. Captured with an Insta360 X5, this image gives the illusion of looking through the mountain’s famous hole, yet it reveals a different view: the path outward, leading from shadow to light. It’s a quiet reminder that exploration isn’t always about reaching new places — sometimes it’s about finding new perspectives on the ones we thought we already knew.

Here's a 360-degree panorama taken at Smith Rock State Park in central Oregon, and morphed into a "mini planet." I like how the giant rock outcroppings become the skyline in this spherical depiction. That's the Crooked river in the center.

My camera is placed just above the year on top of One Times Square in New York City. My job is to give you the closest camera view of the ball as it descends in the final minute of the year. I took this photo with the Insta360 One X. Here is a video I did one year on my YouTube www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sssip-D9hao&t=10s
