The way we experience the world around us is a direct reflection of the world within us.

Replacing the leaky skylight in my wife’s Florida house. It leaked constantly during Tropical Storm Nicole.

Just for fun. Super wide angle shot inside a washing machine. In camera stiching. Retouching in post.

A view on the way up to Silver How, taken with my Insta360 One R action camera, which has a one inch sensor and a Leica-branded lens. It produces great stabilized video right out of the camera and shoots stills in raw DNG format. Unfortunately it only has a tiny 1-inch screen on the back to compose with, so it is easy to chop the tops off trees!
Today I bought myself an Insta360 x5 camera, something I've been itching to use and see what I can create. This is the first upload from this handy little camera.
It's also been an afternoon of frustration trying to figure out how to export a YouTube video to Facebook and actually display a thumbnail!! I know which buttons to press but they ain't working!!
So annoyance to one side, I made this image instead. I placed the camera on the selfie stick and mini tripod then hid behind a tree while the camera fired.
Photo taken on my Insta360 1-inch sensor action camera, on the way down from Bowfell in the Lake District, on a ridge known as The Band. The tops of Crinkle Crags remain hidden by the "clag".
Despite the constant cloud and rain it was a fantastic walk, during which I never managed to get my main camera or either lens out of my rucksack.
One day I hope to have time to put together a highlight reel of the video taken with this camera.
Today I've been delving in the manual settings and using RAW files on an Insta360x5 camera.
It turns out the original RAW DNG file for this image is 400mb!!
Here's a 360-degree panorama taken at Smith Rock State Park in central Oregon, and morphed into a "mini planet." I like how the giant rock outcroppings become the skyline in this spherical depiction. That's the Crooked river in the center.

My backpack is really crowded every morning. It has to be. During winter (now) I need some light to see the lock where the bicycle is parked in the backyard. I use the red beetle (bought at the Golden Gate gift shop, SFO). It has lights (the actual front lights). You can see I use it a lot. Even if I do not bike, I have to have it with me.
I need sugar too (at the back, recognize it?) in case I take a detour and bike 25 instead of 7-8 km to work.
And then, I always take camera batteries with me (one for insta360, one for Canon, at the right)... I have so many more things to make me feel "safe" (the little red key is to allow to plug a trailer to the car)...
Needless say what can happen if I forget ANY of the everyday things I "need" to have with me :-)
I don't ask for the meaning of the song of a bird or the rising of the sun on a misty morning. There they are, and they are beautiful.
