So it should come as no surprise that the feature colour in my house is red.

I have many red items inside which are mostly on my standby list especially with Winter approaching, but today as I walked down stairs I noticed the way the light was streaming through the blinds onto my bowl of spheres and I really liked the stripes and patterns it was creating. Todays shot sorted!

On closer inspection of this, I realised I should have dusted them off first . . . but in my defence I've had two malamutes in the house!

If you have not played this incredible game you are missing out.

This is just a quick image that I made. The figure is really simple as the design is rather simple itself.

So, what do you think of this game and my post? Let me know. :D

"The most prominent and recognizable feature of Thanks-Giving Square is the Chapel of Thanksgiving, a small, spiral tower that features an enclave for prayerful thanks. Inside the chapel, the spiral is topped with stained glass "Glory Window", one of largest horizontally mounted stained-glass pieces in the world. The window was designed by Gabriel Loire of Chartres, France to feature brighter colors as the spiral reached its apex, becoming brighter as it reaches the center. Philip Johnson and Burgee Architects designed the Chapel of Thanksgiving in 1976. The spiral shape of the window is inspired by the spiralled shape of the chambered nautilus."

A little top I made for the Easter meet swap. Kyle got it! It was gonna be a dress but I thought the volume was too odd so I chopped it off.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was on my way home after my precious, much sought for photographic session at Lake Garlate (see Fire on the water).

The magic of sunrise was finished, by then, so I was driving home without any hope of getting something more to capture. It was then that I saw a castle of shining mist ahead. "It is the meandering river near Airuno!", I thought. So I parked my car and reached the river, which flows near the road. The first rays of the rising sun were heating the air and a beautiful mist was rising from the placid surface of water. As the golden light filtered through the mist I set my tripod and the first bracketing, and began shooting.

It was a magic moment. I was feverishly capturing that thin spell of light and mist, since I knew that it was just a fleeting moment, but I did not feel in a hurry - the water was still, only slighlty perturbed by the vague shape of a duck (or rather a common moorhen?) silently gliding along; the noise from the road was muffled by the mist itself, and I was feeling a deep silence inside me.

This is one of the latest shots of the series: soon after that the mist was completely gone, leaving me musing on the fleeting nature of beauty...

So, A. has been more and more into picking out her own outfits. I told her yesterday she could wear *anything* she wanted. She ran down the hall with screams of delight. Ten minutes later she comes back in jammies, green argyle socks, pink converse, pink jacket, baby sunglasses (from when she was 6 months old) and a headband and purse of mine. Inside the purse is her camera, snacks, doll, trucks, a large rubber ball, lip gloss, markers, and more. :) So funny ... and she was so dang proud. And, yes, we went out in public like that. LOL! She giggled wherever we went saying, "Mommy, do you think they know I'm just wearing jammies??" It's just a quick snapshot, but special to me. :)

Chapel of Bones - “Évora is the finest example of a city of the golden age of Portugal after the destruction of Lisbon by the earthquake of 1755'' Inscription criteria on the List of the UNESCO World Heritage (1985) and one of the most macabre sites to visit in Évora is the S. Francisco Church which contains the Chapel of Bones, a chapel which is totally covered with human bones. The cheery message above the chapel reads: “We bones in here wait for yours to join us”; Inside the macabre chapel, bones line the walls as five thousand skulls stare blankly at you from walls and arches. This ghoulish foolishness was the work of three monks who thought it would be easier to meditate on the transitory nature of material things in the undeniable presence of death. The bones of the monks responsible for the interior decorating are in a small white coffin inside the chapel. The Chapel of Bones “Capela dos Ossos” is decoratively lined with the skulls, femurs and tibias of thousands of the dead who's remains were ransacked by monks and nuns for the purpose of creating a fearsome monument to religious and soulful purification and mortality. In one corner, the mummified remains of a man and his infant son were supposedly hang from the boned wall as a reminder of fidelity.
