在加拿大這個很北面的國家有機會親眼看到非洲熱帶動物，確實是件非常奇妙特別的事情。African Lion Safari 是一個很獨特的大型野生動物園，乘車穿越廣闊的園區，可以見到1,000 珍希品種的鳥雀在自由翱翔，長頸鹿、斑馬、獅子、羚羊等動物在悠閒漫步，令您彷彿置身於非洲大草原一樣。這次Insert邀請CoverGril Bambi一起來到位於Hamilton北面的African Lion Safari，體驗近距離的野生動物生活。動物園裡有各種動物表演，孩子們喜歡動物，可以選擇去普通動物園或野生動物園。野生動物園提供難得的機會，讓孩子們和動物超近距離接觸，只隔著一層玻璃，這種體驗真是絕妙。當然還可以享受與大自然景觀零距離的接觸。

A water control structure is a key component; it either diverts water from field tile to the perforated tile that runs parallel to the stream--which saturates the buffer-- or allows water to bypass the buffer, depending on how many panels are inserted into the structure to divert flow.

Here it is with the inserts in. Still need to do more sanding & then put coats of stain & urethane on it.
There are 3 larger inserts and one smaller "accessory" insert. any or all of these can be removed, or flipped over so they drop about 1.25"
This makes for a pretty wide variety of setups and configurations. Games can be played on the tabletop with one or more of the inserts removed, or on the inserts themselves in either the flat or dropped (inverted) positions. With the inserts in place in the flat postion, there's about 3" of room between the inserts and the tabletop. Plenty of room for most games to be stored while in play.

I got a chance to check out the launch of the splendidly named Bull In A Chinashop in Shoreditch. Occupying what was at one point either a ‘Dickensian fronted pub’ and/or a strip club opposite Shoreditch’s Tea Building, Bull In A China Shop is a cocktail/whisky bar that focuses mostly on Japanese and Scotch whiskies (30+), and cocktails consisting of said whiskies. The bar itself looks splendid, made out of burnished copper - and the walls are decorated with lots of weird shit from lots of different places (things look a little ‘alchemic'). I believe the interior design fell out of the fascinating mind of Sara Lewin (who worked on the Cereal Killer Cafe and probably other stuff too).
Things to look out for? Chinese spiced, whisky glazed rotisserie chicken, plus battered chicken in charcoal buns (legit black in colour) made by the dusty knuckle Bakery in Dalston. Isn’t charcoal supposedly great for detoxing all sorts of bad shit stuck in your stomach? Maybe this balances out all the alcohol and the DELICIOUS and the gluten that’s gonna happen to your body when you step in for a few cocktails are a long hard day/morning/*insert reason for entry here*.
BIACS (which sounds like some kind of secret US weapons system) is the second project from brothers Stephen and Simon Chan, owners of The Drunken Monkey. The restaurant itself seats 40 and the bar sits 30 - which is actually quite a lot than you’d think because it’s a pretty small/intimate spot. The location seems ideal, a (hard) stone’s throw from Shoreditch High Street station - surrounded by the skinny jeans and leather jacket clad energy of Shoreditch. I wanna go back already and see if I can do the entire Nikka range in one sitting (is that even possible?) or see what the big deal is with these ‘bao buns’.
