A small, long-legged fly foraging on a flower of the genus Rudbeckia or Ratibida (Asteraceae or Compositae), which are known often as black-eyed susans or coneflowers. I believe that this specimen is Ratibida pinnata, known variously as globular coneflower, pinnate prairie coneflower, yellow coneflower, drooping coneflower, gray-headed coneflower, weary susan, or yellow prairie coneflower.

There was a lake here before the sun dried it up completely leaving these beautiful wild flowers. 5 days later and the rain had completely fill it again submerging everything.
