As part of the #ShapeYourFuture campaign, implemented by EU NEIGHBOURS east, 12 influencers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine travelled to Riga and Prague on 16-22 June to learn how these countries have benefited from being part of the EU.
Participants visited the European Commission Representations in Latvia and Czechia, met local influencers Patricia Vavilova and Rozárie Haškovcová, and learned how governments and NGOs are developing strategies to address disinformation and integrate state activities into a coherent communicative narrative.

The Baptistery
The Baptistery of San Giovanni, where Galileo Galilei was baptized, is a blend of Pisan Romanesque and Gothic influences since construction started in 1153 under the guidance of architect Diotisalvi, but the work was finished just one century later by Nicola and Giovanni Pisano.
With a circumference of 107.24 metres not only is it the largest baptistery in Italy but in the world. The interior has been left purposely empty and built in such a way that the building boasts extraordinary acoustics and a very distinctive echo.
Inside, the hexagonal pulpit carved with scenes from the life of Christ and the Universal Judgment by Nicola Pisano.

It is one of the most striking squares in the world, a masterful expression of human creativity. Since 1982 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Welcome to Piazza Duomo in Pisa, renamed the Piazza dei Miracoli (“Square of Miracles”) by Gabriele d’Annunzio due to the sheer amount of masterpieces it hosts, all of which are in absolute harmony.
Standing beside the greenest of lawns, the Cathedral, Leaning Tower, Baptistery and Monumental Cemetery are resplendent in their beauty vaunting a curious architectural perfection that combines the triumphant Pisan Romanesque with classical, early Christian, Lombard and Eastern motifs.
Pisa is a city in Italy's Tuscany region best known for its iconic Leaning Tower. Already tilting when it was completed in 1372, the 56m white-marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque, striped-marble cathedral that rises next to it in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Also in the piazza is the Baptistry, whose renowned acoustics are demonstrated by amateur singers daily,

The font is the star turn - it is 12th century and possibly came from the earlier Church. It was carved by Richard of Durham and shows how old Nordic influences continued after the Norman conquest. The east side depicts Richard at work with his hammer and chisel carving a flower and leaf. It has an inscription which some have interpreted as reading ‘Richard he me wrought, and to this beauty me brought’.
I return to this web site frequently, since it's so perfect in its simplicity. Ever since I found it back in 2005 or something, I've been going back to marvel at the language, the picture and the whole concept. It just can't get any better.
