My first night in Singapore and the heat and the humidity became unbearable. The back of my shirt felt like it was superglued to my skin. This was not Southern California with its Mediterranean climate.
My introductory walk around Singapore invariably led me to Marina Bay Sands. I looked up and glimpsed at a gigantic surfboard on top of three hotel towers.
Did jet lag cloud my perception?
Did I just fly for over 20 hours from California to Singapore to see the world’s largest surfboard?
No, it was just the world's largest public cantilevered platform, part of which overhangs the north tower by over 219 feet.
The three 55-story hotel towers of Marina Bay Sands are connected by a 2.47 acre sky terrace on the roof, named Sands SkyPark. The SkyPark is home to the world's longest elevated swimming pool, with a 478 ft vanishing edge.
In California we say, “Surf's up!” What is Singapore’s version of that?

This is the last of my infinity pool photos. This is the view from Spain across the Straits towards Morocco at dawn. Look closely and you'll see ships, it's one of the busiest shipping routes in the world. I've said it before and I'll say it again – I cannot tire of this view!

The beautiful turquoise waters surrounding the island of Mo'orea in French Polynesia.
Mo'orea is a high island in French Polynesia, one of the Society Islands, 11 miles northwest of Tahiti.
I think I read somewhere that the Infinity Pool of the Paloma Club Sultan is the largest anywhere in the Mediterranean. Certainly from this viewpoint it looks like it......

When we booked our Summer holiday to the Paloma Club Sultan hotel in Ozdere, Turkey I remember hoping I'd get some shots like this of the infinity pool. I'd say things turned out nicely.......
These are some of the first shots I took with my new Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 and I think the increase in quality over my previous 70-300mm lens is considerable.

"This time last year"....
I feel like my whole life has changed since then... last year I took this photo on my old company's Sales trip in Cancun, Mexico. I was 16 years with my company and I thought I would retire with them ... I went to Cancun so many February's in a row, I lost count... The trip inspired us to work very hard that next year to be able to hit our sales numbers to get back here the next year.... Always a fun time with wonderful people from my office.
Well sometimes things change and companies change... and sometimes people don't leave companies, they have to leave bosses...
Anyways, always ever grateful for my memories and experiences, onwards and upwards to a new chapter in my life...
