It is the light that makes the invisible dimension become visible. The blazing light that, at its maximum intensity, nullifies the ability to actually see. The light of revelation, of illumination, which brings us beyond the visible…
Doug Wheeler was influenced by the sense of infinity he experienced while wandering through the American desert. Wheeler, a creator of continuous spaces, lives and works in Santa Fe and Los Angeles. In his work, artificial light redefines architecture, time and gravity.
By removing the shadows and eliminating the horizon lines, the space beyond the palace’s columns forms a single whole. As a result, the installation evokes an ethereal, infinite and dream-like space, offering a meditative environment for visitors to question their physicality.

It took me a while to write this description. "Dr Infinity" was a character in the City of Heroes MMORPG and was played by a childhood friend I reconnected with about 20 years after I left home to chase life. He was in bad physical shape then, due to illness and his online life eventually became his window to the world and a place where he was not limited by a rapidly failing body.
He passed away in 2006. He is my friend and I miss him :-(

About time I tried something new. Hope you guys like it! Took me ages to get the color right and the way I wanted it. Have some more versions of this...Might upload those later.

The decking and bridge structure are illuminated at night. The decking has rather attractive blue lighting which interacts with pedestrians and cyclists, changing to white as they pass each set of lights.

we were walking and walking and walking. nothing in the horizon besides sand. the only hint of the ocean was the smell of salty water in the air. it seemed like forever, but it took us about 30 minutes to find the ocean behind those infinite dunes.

It’s weird to try and write something to a bunch of people I don’t know. I know that I could just write about photography, that's why were all here. But that's so shallow. I want to change lives! I want to make the world a better place. I don’t know who you are, what kind of person you are, or what you’re trying to get out of life. So what can I say...
If you’re the same as everyone else, you’re probably just trying to find your way through life. Maybe you’re trying to be unique, to be noticed. Maybe you’ve been striving for the approvals of others far too long and you’ve never found it. Maybe you’ve been hiding behind a mask so long that you’ve forgotten who you really are. Maybe you just feel lost in this huge world. Maybe you're feeling alone. Maybe you feel invisible.
But that's not really who you are, you were built for so much more! You're beautiful, strong, courageous, loving, and yes, you are unique. Even if these things are hidden deep down, they’re there. And that’s all that really matters. That's something the world can't take away. Maybe you’ve forgotten that. Consider this your reminder :)
You see I think there is really something to the idea of contentment. If we could only learn to be happy with what we have and who we are... But that’s not going to happen if we keep thinking about ourselves, that's a path that leads to nowhere. There are so many people who need help, people who are hurting. If you can take just a few minutes out of your day to reach those people, whether it’s talking to the broken person in the café or buying the guy who just lost his job food, you’ll change the world. And you'll realize just how beautiful this place can be.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Blunthead tree snake (Imantodes cenchoa) - Cordillera Escalera Conservation Area, Peru
There were a lot of these Imantodes around but that was fine by me as they are such a cool species. They're extremely well adapted to an arboreal lifestyle in the branches. This is evident from their thin shape and becomes even more apparent when watching them move, they effortlessly hold large portions of their body up without any outside support as they reach for far off branches. When this one saw me coming it assumed this position and held it which allowed me to get some photos of the 'infinity' loop it created with its coils. When looking at this thin almost fragile looking snake its tough to imagine it tackling any sort of prey, however it is able to overcome small lizards and frogs and will eat reptile and amphibian eggs if it comes across them.
