The year indication is carved in an oval into the plaster layer on the facade.

The three-storey building is built in a sober architectural style, typical for the first decade of the 20th Century. It has elements of a tight visual language which slightly refer to a new and coming architectural style, a transition style towards Art Deco.

Seen on the facade of an old apartment building.

Original architect unknown.

The only indication of Business US 18 on any freeway signs are on westbound US 18 at the interchange with US 65. It is not indicated on I-35 at all, probably since the signs at Exit #194 are already crowded. (Before 2001, "Federal Ave" was on the sign instead of "Downtown Mason City". Note that the font for "Rockwell," which was on the original sign, is different.)

This sweep from east to south to west M-21 gives a good indication of the high water produced by the combination of rapid snow melt and then rain coming down upon the partly frozen ground. Since the water could not readily sink into the ground, it flowed ever downward until finally reaching the rivers that feed into this one, the Grand River at Ada, Michigan. This stop light is east of the village of Ada, at the east bridgehead that spans the wide river. Climate patterns have produced winters 4 to 6 weeks shorter than 5 years ago. The trend of warming atmosphere contributes to extreme weather becoming more frequent: rains are heavier, winds are more damaging, drought is more intense, high temperatures are higher and lows are lower, and so on. Businesses and houses that once were safe from floods according to earlier flood-zone maps now are being flooded. The power and destruction of floods is not as intense as fire damage, but it is a wider scale and more common. Probably many families and businesses will be ruined by extreme weather, including weather in the coming generation or two.

A short video of two NSW "single light" signals displaying turnout indications. The "road" is set from the up main (main south line) via the down refuge loop to the branch (Moss Vale - Unanderra line).

First signal displays "medium turnout": proceed via turnout route (to the right), next signal displays at least caution or caution-turnout indication.

The second signal displays "caution turnout": proceed via turnout route (to the right), the next signal may be at stop.

This indication of the year of finishing of the house was put under a family crest. It seems that this house had noble first owners.

This small city house is called 'Het Raepenhofje'. This house is closing off a small inner court. Above the entrance of the court initials "P A' are carved in a hardstone closing stone.

Left from the entrance there is still an early 17th Century cross window, which is now hardly seen in Amsterdam.

1648 was an important year in Dutch history. After 80 years of war with the Spanish occupiers a peace treatment was finally signed in the City of Munster (Germany).

Perhaps an indication of what is going wrong with our society today. Two recycling boxes outside a house “somewhere in West Pontnewydd”, overflowing with mainly, strong lager and cider cans. Probably bought cheaply in “slabs” from a supermarket for excessive consumption at home. I’m not a kill-joy, but in my opinion this is a rather large quantity for one house even if there has been a barbecue/party. It is my belief we should return to pubs and off licenses only, allowed to sell alcohol, definitely not the supermarkets.

And incidentally, despite the local council providing nets to retain recyclable rubbish in the boxes, few people bother to use them. Thus, cans and bottles fall off and roll around the streets with no one bothering to bend their backs to pick them up - not even the council recycling crews. In bad weather these boxes can be emptied by the wind, the contents scattered far and wide turning streets into landfill sites. But the council insists on clinging to inefficient and messy roadside recycling.
