A um porta-incenso espatifado. Descanse em paz, mon chère.

A large incense burner forms an interesting foreground to a Guan Yin statue at the far end of a large open area which serves as the parking lot and assembly area for the Gua Perak/ Perak Tong cave temple in Ipoh, Perk, Malaysia. Guan Yin is the Taoist angel of mercy -some also call her the Lady Buddha or Gwun Yam. Notes about the Gua Perak/ Perak Tong cave temple appear elsewhere in this album. (see previous and subsequent images). (Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, Sept. 2023)

A tourist lights incense sticks in the Kek Lok Tong cave temple in Ipoh, Malaysia. Typical of Taoist temples, a large incense burner graced the entrance concourse of the Kek Lok Tong cave temple. Scores of who I assumed to be Korean tourists were milling about, with several of them stopping by at this spot to light incense sticks. My other pictures of this spot turned out to be rather distracting, with too many people about or too many rear views showing, so I decided to isolate this one tourist and take this picture instead. Notes and more pictures of the Kek Lok Tong cave temples appear elsewhere in this album. (see previous and subsequent pictures). (Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, Sept. 2023)

Hmm.. which one to choose, eh? ;D

Custom suggestions also welcome!

Incense burner in front of the Stele Pavilion, Lama Temple, Beijing, China

This is the incense burner in front of the Sensoji Temple. People would buy a bundle of incense and stick it in the sand in this pot. People would waft the smoke on themselves for luck.
