Build between 1904 and 1925. I think this one wwas build between 1904 and 1910. It has a (serial?)number (72) that is stamped on the main body and the extension rail. This is a 5X7 camera and includes also the original (at least it's made of the same wood, has the same finish and the same ornaments as the 5X7 back) 4X5 back.
The camera is beautifully ebonized and has a nice "patine". On some places the ebony finish has a patern of cracks like the frame of an old painting. It doesn't look worn out though. I just llove the camera.
In these pictures I mounted a Rapid Rectilinear from B&L in a Kodak ballbearing shutter. It covers 5X7. Lovely little lens.
For anybody who has more info on this camera, please enlight me ;-)

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, celebrated each year on 17 May, marks the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union in 1865.
The theme for 2013 is ‘ICTs and Improving road safety’
According to the Report of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC), 1.3 million people die each year in traffic related accidents and another 20-50 million people are injured mainly in developing countries around the world. As a result, global economic loss is estimated at USD 518 billion.
Technology-related driver distraction and road-user behaviour, which includes “text messaging” and interfacing with in-vehicle navigation or communication systems while driving, are among the leading contributors to road traffic fatalities and injuries.
ITU looks towards its Members to harness the catalytic role of ICTs to enhance road safety and traffic management systems, eliminate unsafe technology-related distractions while driving, promote the development and use of safe user interfaces in vehicles
and develop Intelligent Transport Systems to improve the safety, management and efficiency of terrestrial transport, while reducing its environmental impact.

Using Light Therapy to Treat Seasonal Affective Disorder, Jet Lag, Chronic Fatigue, Brain Fog & Depression; Improve Mitochondria ATP Cellular Function and Greatly Boost Energy, Focus & Mood
Light therapy provides lots of interesting and effective options for using simple modern technology to improve our circadian rhythm and get better sleep, improve our cellular energy production and greatly boost our overall energy levels, mood and focus.
Today we are exploring ways to use light frequencies to hack our circadian rhythm during the winter months and when travelling long distances, in order to get deeper sleep, have more energy and greatly improve our cellular functioning.
New research into the way our skin, eyes and even our brain can directly intake different spectrums of light is providing us with lots of options for maintaining optimal sleep cycles and energy levels, from very simple and inexpensive light bulbs to more high tech devices that are still very affordable, especially considering their effectiveness.
Of course, the absolute most effective light therapy of all is free: sunlight. And if we can manage to get more sunlight into our bodies during the winter months, then this is the most effective and most affordable option. But its also the least practical for most people, right?
Sunbathing in the cold is really not most people’s cup of tea, though it combining cold exposure with sunbathing does have amazing health benefits. The amount of sunlight our bodies directly intake is really a major factor in why so many people feel great in the summer, but easily get sick and depressed in the winter.
I used to have these symptoms until I came to understand that these symptoms were really being caused by both the altered circadian rhythm set by the reduced light cycle, as well as the reduction in the amount of light my body was able to intake during the winter.

Not quite a year ago, I bought my first DSLR. Since then I have had the fortune to document all of the amazing, beautiful, heartbreaking, touching, colorful, funny, sad, and simple moments of my life. I don't know if I have improved over this past 12 months, but I do know I have learned so much through the medium of photography and through all of you here on flickr. I have reignited my love of the creative and now have photographic evidence of things that happened that my brain will probably soon forget.

Karen Hannigan (left to right), of the county’s Aging, Disability and Caregiver Resource Line, and Lucy Gerland of the county’s Family Caregiver Support Program, listen as a resident shares ideas on improving services during the Fairfax 50+ Forum at the Chantilly Regional Library on June 3, 2013. Hannigan and Gerland were co-facilitators for a break out discussion on services for older adults. This was one of 14 forums hosted by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, together with the Fairfax Area Commission on Aging, to hear what residents have to say about creating a more aging-friendly community.
Life has become pretty monotonous for all of us. Young as well as old, everyone is involved in making sure that what lies ahead of them is a secure and happy future. But the question here is – are we really living our lives the way we want? While waiting for the right moment to arrive, we spend several thousands of our life’s precious moments in anticipation. This particularly applies to our professional lives. Having the right job that pays well has become so important for us all that we tend to forget that it is our job that is paying us to be happy and content. Quite contrary to this, we actually believe that our jobs are paying us so that we pay others and this takes away half the joy of working and earning.
While it is important to reach greater heights and conquer our dreams, it is equally important to understand that life is not just about earning and spending. There is a lot more to it and before time slips out of your hands, stop and take a breath. Give yourself time to relax, time to enjoy the fruits of your labor or at least, time to laugh. A lot here depends on how you plan your commitments and create a balanced lifestyle. For women, this is particularly difficult but not impossible. Let’s look at some ways you can improve the quality of your life without making any significant changes to your routine.
Create a work-life balance
This is something you might have heard always but the reality is that there is no one perfect way to balance your personal and professional commitments. Also, it might just not happen sometimes. No matter how much you plan ahead, uncertainties .

The Château de Chaumont is a French castle at Chaumont-sur-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, France.
The first château-fort on this site between Blois and Amboise was a primitive fortress built by Eudes II, Count of Blois, in the 10th century with the purpose of protecting Blois from attacks from his feudal rivals, the counts of Anjou. On his behalf the Norman Gelduin received it, improved it and held it as his own. His great-niece Denise de Fougère, having married Sulpice d'Amboise, passed the château into the Amboise family for five centuries. The castle was burned to the ground in 1465 in accordance with Louis XI's orders and was later rebuilt by Charles I d'Amboise from 1465–1475 and then finished by his son, Charles II d'Amboise de Chaumont from 1498–1510, with help from his uncle, Cardinal Georges d'Amboise; some Renaissance features were to be seen in buildings that retained their overall medieval appearance.
The Château de Chaumont was purchased by Catherine de Medici in 1560, a year after her late husband Henry II's death. There she entertained numerous astrologers, among them Nostradamus. In 1559 she forced Diane de Poitiers, her late husband's long-term mistress, to exchange the Château de Chenonceau for the Château de Chaumont. Diane de Poitiers only lived at Chaumont for a short while.
In 1594, at the death of Diane's grand-daughter Charlotte de la Marck, the chateau passed to her husband the vicomte de Turenne,[1] who sold it to a tax farmer Largentier, who had grown rich on gathering in the salt tax called the gabelle. Largentier eventually being arrested for peculation, the chateau and the title of sieur de Chaumont passed into a family originating at Lucca, who possessed it until 1667, when it passed by family connections to the seigneurs de Ruffignac.
The duc de Beauvilliers[2] bought the chateau in 1699, modernized some of its interiors and decorated it with sufficient grandeur to house the duc d'Anjou on his way to become king of Spain in 1700. His eventual heir was forced to sell Chaumont to pay his debts to a maître des requêtes ordinaire to Louis XV, Monsieur Bertin, who demolished the north wing built by Charles II d'Amboise and the Cardinal d'Amboise, to open the house towards the river view in the modern fashion.
In 1750, Jacques-Donatien Le Ray purchased the castle as a country home where he established a glassmaking and pottery factory. He was considered the French "Father of the American Revolution" because he loved America. Benjamin Franklin was never a guest at the castle. His grandson, Temple, was. However, in 1789, the new French Revolutionary Government seized Le Ray's assets, including his beloved Château de Chaumont.
Madame de Staël later acquired the château in 1810. The comte d'Aramon bought the neglected château in 1833, undertook extensive renovations under the architect Jules Potier de la Morandière of Blois, who was later inspector of the works at the château de Blois;[3] M. d'Aramon installed a museum of medieval arts in the "Tour de Catherine de Médicis". By 1851 the "Chaumont suite"[4] of early-16th century Late Gothic tapestries with subjects of courntry life emblemmatic of the triumph of Eternity, closely associated with Chaumont and now at the Cleveland Museum of Art, was still hanging in the "Chambre de Catherine de Médicis"; the tapestries had been cut and pieced to fit the room.[5] Marie-Charlotte Say, heiress to the Say sugar fortune,[6] acquired Chaumont in 1875. Later that year, she married Amédée de Broglie, who commissioned the luxurious stables in 1877 to designs by Paul-Ernest Sanson, further restored the chateau under Sanson's direction and replanted the surrounding park in the English naturalistic landscape fashion
The castle has been classified as a Monument historique since 1840 by the French Ministry of Culture.[7] In 1938 the government took over the ownership. The Château de Chaumont is currently a museum and every year hosts a Garden Festival from April to October where contemporary garden designers display their work in an English-style garden.[8]

Cities are dynamic and vital parts of society and are the main engines of social, economic and technological development. Cities have significant resource demands through the services they provide, and as such, cities are a major driver of environmental impact. The EBRD responded to this challenge by establishing EBRD Green Cities in 2016. EBRD Green Cities uses Green City Action Plans (‘GCAPs’) to systematically prioritise and finance transformational environmental and climate related municipal infrastructure.
This session explored how EBRD Green Cities delivers high environmental standards and what this means for citizens’ quality of life, the role it has to play in EU-accession (at the city level) and the role of smart solutions.

These highways were last paved in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. WSDOT maintenance crews work to keep these highways in good condition each year but highways should be repaved every 15 years. These roads are overdue for a longer lasting fix.
As part of this project a number of pedestrian crossings will also be improved to meet current standards and approve safety and walkability around Whidbey Island.

The first thing that impressed me was the improved BlueTooth support. I can browse the filesystem of my Nokia 6670 without installing any add-on packages, unlike the way you have to do on that Other OS.

The windmill was spinning.
The US Army began developing antitank missiles in the mid-1960s, but struggled in finding an adequate launcher for them. Both the M551 Sheridan and M60A2 "Starship" Patton used the M51 Shillelagh missile, but neither tank was impressive in combat, and the Shillelagh left something to be desired. The Army developed the far superior TOW (Tube-launched, Optically-tracked Wire-guided) missile in the late 1960s, but lacked a vehicle that could fire it, though infantry were equipped with TOW launchers.
As was often the case at the time, the Army hit on the idea of modifying the ubiquitous M113 APC to the role of TOW launcher, as the M901 Improved TOW Vehicle (ITV). The general chassis was unchanged, but a "hammerhead" TOW launcher was added to the top of the hull, replacing the commander's cupola and machine gun. The launcher carried two BGM-71s ready to fire, and a further ten inside. To reload the launcher, it was simply dropped back, and new missiles could be loaded completely undercover. Best of all, the launcher meant the ITV could fire from "hull down," exposing only the launcher itself. The ITV retained all the problems of the M113--light armor and vulnerability to mines--and would have trouble moving while the TOW launcher was in firing position. Still, the system worked, it was easy to employ, and inexpensive. It was also developed into the M981 FIST (Fire Support Team Vehicle), which replaced the TOW launcher with a laser turret to spot for incoming artillery.
The M901 was intended to be used in a European conflict, where it would be attached to tank teams and act as tank destroyers, firing from under cover and ambush. It was supplemented by the M2 Bradley, which had a TOW launcher as well, and TOW-equipped HMMWVs, but these had to be reloaded by a crewman exposed to fire. In the end, the M901 was never used in Europe, but saw action in both Gulf Wars. The US Army withdrew the M901 in the early 21st Century, but ten other countries still use it as of this writing.
This ITV is on display at Fort Douglas, near Salt Lake City, Utah, and is shown with the TOW launcher in firing position. It retains its desert camouflage and Gulf War tactical markings on the hull, though more than likely this M901 was not assigned to the Utah National Guard (which mostly consists of engineer and artillery units).

I saw this - honest, I swear I did. But the finger was just not quick enough on the button, and all I caught was the two heads pointing in the same direction.
Well, in order to present what I did see, I've tried my hand at some quick and dirty ....
Could, I'm sure, be greatly improved if I were trying to deceive. Just enjoy what was in my camera eye.
Improved bolt action sniper rifle. To make the weapons more in-line with my story, I changed the manufacturer from Norden Waffenfabrik, which is German, to Suomen Aseteollisuus Yhtiö (SAY), a Finnish arms company. There are two differences between this one and my previous bolt action: 1) I removed the lens on the front of the scope and 2) i added more ice and snow to it.
Again, thanks to 'Poke' for the inspiration and various parts (bolt handle, scope adjustment knobs, and tape).
