The installation "Impressions," by artist Stu Schecter is created entirely from a tree that had to be removed during the construction of the Undergraduate Building. All of the planks that make up the piece were numbered and hung in their original position.

In yet another series, inspired by her ‘artist in residence’ period at the Vermont Studio Center in the USA, the artist sweeps the public along in her enchantment with and admiration of the breathtakingly beautiful nature which it seems held her its spell at that time.
It was a very stormy day and I took a walk with my camera. I like the atmosphere when a storm is arriving and came past a little chapel.
this is one of the widest stream that ran across the ancient town...and the gentle flow combined with soft mild breeze, made this place a peaceful town to be....

the famous outdoor cultural show designed by zhang yimou. just at the foot of jade dragon snow mountain. different ethnic groups and people groups perform and showcase the character of the group.
was quite interesting and and i left the show understanding that i never understood the chinese culture and its people. there are so many people groups and numerous ethnicity within the chinese and everyone is so different.
like how people say that china is really a planet on its own.
taking pictures the other night, I was left with the very clear impression of one calm & joyful couple; quite wonderful.

We arrived early at Kalkheuwel waterhole, just after sunrise. It wasn't too busy: 'just' antelope, some birds, and a single jackal.
Our first impression: "what is that jackal doing?".
She was running around in aimless cirles, or so it seemed. Well, this little lady DID have an aim: her walking around soothed the pigeons drinking at this waterhole, thinking the jackal was just another innocent visitor to the waterhole.
As soon as a pigeon was stupid enough to dip not just its beak, but its head into the water, it was 'bingo' for the jackal: we witnessed two kills in less than ten minutes!
This shot was taken a fraction of a second after the actual kill, the jackal was once again faster than my reflexes! You can see the water dripping from the legs and head of poor pigeon No.2...
This set consists of a 20+ series of this female jackal, gathering her pigeon 'breakfast' at Kalkheuwel waterhole in Etosha National Park, Namibia.
