My impression of old Zurich. I imagine this is what old Zurich must have looked in pictures taken by box cameras of the early 1900s.

This was supposed to be my first day of holiday. I've almost spent 18hrs in this airport and I'll leave it would 24hrs.
I didn't plan to spend my first hours like this...
Anayway as always I tried to do the best that I could of my time.
These are my imprimession of the last few hours. Impression of emptiness and time elaps.
Near my office are a number of maple trees. During the month of October, the leaves begin to change colors, ranging from bright oranges and reds to wonderful shades of yellow and green.
Last week, I took a few minutes prior to heading home to capture some images of the wonderful colors. As you can see, I played a bit with the camera and created some abstracts in addition to snapping more traditional shots.
I'm glad I took the pics when I did, because a recent thunderstorm stripped the trees of most of the leaves seen in these pics.
Although some purists might object to this image not showing the whole flower, I feel it gives enough information for an impression of the whole flower, without stating all of it. Consider this an experiment in close cropping.
This upload doesn't reveal the full detail: a velvety texture of cells can be seen in the petals, and pollen grains are resolved in the centre of the flower.
Look out for: At least three 'white fly' on the flower. I could have cloned these out, but they didn't spoil the image.
Info: ISO-100, 1.8s, f/22, +1.0 EV, tripod, no flash, indoors, natural light.
