NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Aug. 11, 2020) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Ellysse Tilley, assigned to the dental department aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), sprays disinfectant onto a alginate impression in order to create a maxillary essix retainer. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a multi-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repairs, upgrades, and modernization. What does the word 'impression' mean to you?
Does the definition in your head make you confused about the image you're looking at? Why? Everything we have and know is based on something or someone, isn't that an impression in itself?
This image, why did I create it? Who was my influences? Who's work left such an impression that I aimed to create something similar?
Throughout these images I used influence from Scout Pare-Phillips. I wanted to capture the texture of the impressions left on the skin and compliment them with nothing but neutral tones and negative space.

Impressions left in silt by forming ice crystals while the silt was passing under the forming ice by flowing water.

The idea is to paint life with an impressionist look. It's easy, i just outfocus a bit the picture, but it's difficult to get a Good Result ;-D
