Wo?
Wo wird einst des Wandermüden
Letzte Ruhestätte sein?
Unter Palmen in dem Süden?
Unter Linden an dem Rhein?
Werd ich wo in einer Wüste
Eingescharrt von fremder Hand?
Oder ruh ich an der Küste
Eines Meeres in dem Sand?
Immerhin! Mich wird umgeben
Gotteshimmel, dort wie hier,
Und als Totenlampen schweben
Nachts die Sterne über mir.

Summer may be bright and harsh with sharp edges but Spring is soft and fresh, diffuse and gentle. Wildflower meadows with scissor-tails and yucca flowers. Can you feel it? Can you smell it?

I went for a stroll through the woods at Badbury Rings yesterday looking for some more arty pictures and some hints of autumn too. This one though made me think more of warm hazy lazy summer days so I thought I'd put this up first.
Hope you like it - will be interested to read your comments!!
It's much better on black!
PS - I should have said that this was taken with an old Tamron 500mm catadioptric lens (the Exif data doesn't register it).

Usei:
1x base Miracle Cure, Sally Hansen (3Free)
3x Impression, El Corazón (3Free)
Another in-camera impressionist effect different from Primary and Red Impressions. Same equipment, same locale, same day.
Part of an ongoing project while living in India, a gallery in Bangalore asked me to put together an exhibition! These three images are selected from that collection.
(Topaz Labs Impression, Pencil Effect)
Driving down a country road I stopped for a 'nature break'. I then noticed this clump of weeds and took the original image. After putting it through Topaz Labs Impression and much moving of the effects sliders, I've tried to come up with what I'd love to be able to do with an actual pencil and a piece of paper.
RHS Wisley again. SOOC. And warm wishes for today and tomorrow for fellow Flickrs! Thanks for your visit! And thanks for your comments!! :-))

Winner of the first prize in the Creative Visions of Nature category of the 2007 Nature of Britain competition run by the Scottish Seabird Centre, N. Berwick. (The one that won is actually a slightly different version, the right way up. I just happen to prefer this version!)
