The Wereldberoemde China Girls En Impressions Of China Openden Op De Grote Markt In Groningen GO CHINA !!

Met Een Gigantische Show

By Stormblast1953

Jardin des Tuileries Paris (F)

The leaves on the iris patch have emerged as a golden green, and another try at ICM (intentional camera movement) produced this image. I was amazed how much it brought the colour out!

While I was looking through the viewfinder, our cat Mini walked into the middle and proceeded to chomp on the tips of the leaves... very funny (but slightly worrying)... I took a couple of extra shots forgetting I'd changed my camera settings. Blurred cat didn't turn out so good!

Spending four nights at Phillips Lake, OR, prior, during and after the eclipse, having this view right by my campsite, was an amazing "filling" for the main event that brought me to this spot, no doubt, and almost every night I would walk a few steps and take a shot of our Milky Way reflecting on the lake, just like this one. Yet, what I brought with me from this place was so much more, and I don't just mean the "lady of the lake" image I captured of the eclipse...

Unknowingly, a lake I might have not ever visited otherwise (it's just too far from home), became a landmark in my life, a beach I will always remember as the place where I saw and felt the most out-worldly experience I've ever had. The impression left on me by this event isn't quite comparable to the imprint of the Milky Way on the lake that we see here, but it was the best analogy that came to my mind as I was looking at the image and the blurry reflection - how we perceive things, often altered by our own state of mind, and how they really are. It works for me. Or you can just enjoy the view!

Impressions from my camera. ISO 100, F/36, Canon EOS 600D, camera shake.

Just an impression that the entire situation is making with me.

A hand? A foot? Actually, an ice impression from a leaf that apparently was left behind as the ice detached, fell, and attached itself, upside down, to this branch.

Dunstable, Massachusetts.

Here is a scene that reminded me of an impressionist painting. The leaves are like small repetitive brush strokes. There's a sense of movement. The tree trunks lean against the line of the path, perhaps symbolic of the passage of time. The shapes swirl across the frame, punctuated by the patterns of the branches. I wonder if others will see it the way I do, as I press the shutter.

Thank you for your visit, most appreciated!

The Paris Summer Olympics is starting very soon, with heats of some sports already underway. The recent Paris: Impressions of Life 1880 - 1925 exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery brought back the romance of the city with objects from that period. At some stage the current Olympics will pass into history but for now I wish them well and hope the challenges of security will hold everything in order. The opening ceremony will be screened at 3.30am on Channel Nine (annoying as I don't watch commercial TV as a rule) . I am wondering if the proposed 5 day strike by Nine Publishing Group will not backfire on Journalists at the Age, Sydney Morning Herald, AFR and others.

This is a montage of a painting, street map of the time and the Olympic Rings.

Impressions of Earlestown Market and People. Earlestown has a normal and successful retail market on a Friday and on Saturday has a Flea Market / Car Boot Sale which is best described as gritty. The flea market fascinates me. The background for this collage is an enlarged copy of the top central image.

My Impressions of Winnats Pass which is a Limestone gorge located at Castleton in the High Peak district of Derbyshire, England.

I don't like hights. I get giddy standing on a stool, so standing on the edge of the limestone outcrops in wet muddy boots and looking down to see a lot of air before my eyes focused on the road at the bottom of the gorge.....is......???

This was a reconnaissance trip but the low cloud swept in leaving little visibility.

So i will have to do it all again:-) Looking forward to it.
