A bunch of us, Sean, Ailing, Weilan, Brian, Shiwen popped by EXPO to take a peek before heading off to 2am:dessetbar. We were running short on time and left within the hour. I am pretty sure all the guys didn't mind staying longer. Hehe.
Super Import Nights – The Ultimate Motorshow is notably the biggest and only tuner car show in Singapore that is returning for the third successive year. It has the characteristics of the Tokyo Autosalon as well as the virtues of Hot Import Nights (USA).
Premiere im Moviemento. Voller Aufgeregung ins Kino, weil Hundstage, ein Lieblingsfilm von mir. Neben mir ausnahmsweise keine lauten Popcornmampfer, sondern Gerhard Haderer. Ich wollte ihn schon mit "Hallo Herr Hader, freut mich neben Ihnen zu sitzen" grüßen, zum Glück war er aber mit seiner Sitznachbarin beschäftigt, so sind ihm halbgare Gnal-Jokes erspart geblieben. Die Fragestunde nach dem Film mit dem Regisseur ist richtig gut gelaufen. Meistens geht das ja schief, die Besucher stehen noch zu sehr unter der Wirkung des Films und müssen erst die Gedanken klar bekommen oder wollen einfach nur auf's Klo. Diesmal klappte es aber gut. Die interessanteste Frage für mich war, was passiert mit den 78h Material, das nicht im Film verwendet worden ist? Aber auf den Director's Cut warte ich wohl vergeblich.
Übrigends, der Film ist ganz fantastisch!

The 450 was created on the chassis of the 440 Spartak model, which got a roadster body and an engine tuned to 50 HP - the name means 4 cylinders and 50 horse powers. It had its flaws (questionable body toughness, low quality textile roof), but also was very light and speedy. After the Spartak was replaced by the Octavia, the roadsters were built on the new chassis and renamed Felicia. The 450 was produced only for a short period of time, 1000 were made, and today it´s a very rare and expensive classic. Most were exported, some even to the US, where they were called Skoda America Convertible. This car has the look from promotion pictures made in 1957 for an US importer, where it poses together with Miss USA Charlotte Sheffield - there were big plans for the US market, but the frst order of 15000 cars catched the factory by surprise, being far outside their production capacity. In the end some 400 roadsters were sold in the US.
