For this assignment, I chose to copy and try to implement the style of Edward Weston, a key figure in Modernist photography known for his sharp focus, high contrast, and abstract interpretations of everyday objects. Weston often transformed simple subjects such as peppers, vegetables and fruits into striking compositions by emphasizing their form, texture, and tonal range. Taking that idea of his work, I captured a close-up black and white image of a banana, focusing on its smooth curves and subtle surface details. By eliminating color, I aimed to capture the organic shapes and textures, much like Weston’s famous still-life photographs. The use of soft lighting helped enhance the shadows and the shape of the banana, ultimately trying to bring out the banana’s natural structure. My composition follows Weston’s approach of isolating a subject against a simple background to emphasize its sculptural qualities. Through this process, I explored how Modernism redefines our perception of ordinary objects, turning them into abstract works of art.

In order to address the problem of water scarcity in Swabi District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, #Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has implemented another water project in Village Topy. This water project is expected to provide clean water for drinking and domestic usage to almost 23 families living in this village.

Last week Louisville had a snow event. Salt/Plow trucks waited under viaducts for hours for the snow to start!!! Louisville is on top of this storm!!! However, at least one of those drivers passed the time by drinking. He must have been plowing crooked because he was caught!!! Maybe he was borrowed from the City's recreation department??? LOL

Tharparkar remains Pakistan’s the most water-scarce area and #Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is striving to improve the situation by the implementation of various water projects like small hand pumps, submersible water pump and solar-powered water in this region. Recently, we have installed a new small hand pump at Village Nabi Sir Sahar, Tharparkar. This water project is expected to provide clean water for drinking and domestic usage to almost 33 families living in this village.
