A favorite shot from this past monsoon...September 1st was a great lightning day, sat here for almost an hour, barely in and out of the rain...and finally the bolts got close and I loved this one slamming into those hills northeast of Willcox.
If you look super close, you can see two upward streamers at the impact point!

An image that represents all the weather we were experiencing, wind, hail storms, rain, sunshine and even a rainbow.
Having been in Porthcawl a few weeks earlier for the visit of Storm Ciara and the drama of those massive waves crashing into the lighthouse, this in its own way was equally dramatic.
Urban buildings seen trough a perforated glass pane, from the top of a parking in an office district in Brussels.

Hello my bbys! I’m super excited to say that I feel like I’m back! Last Saturday (May 25th), I went shooting with Dee after not seeing her for two months and it was fabulous! We went to so many locations and I changed 5 times in the trunk (in front of random guys playing basketball, I might add) and we got all wet and there were dead fish and we saw super sketch graffiti and it was great because we were finally going on adventures again! Plus, Dee was rocking the modeling (as you can see here) and I totes remembered why I LOVE photography so much (as well as modeling)! And school will be ending in 3 days along with finals so I’ll hopefully be able to shoot way more often (without that lame excuse of being “busy”; more like laaaazy).
I actually have a few more pictures from this shoot already edited but I really wanted this one to be uploaded first. I bought this jug at a thrift store several months ago and I’ve been wanting to shoot with it for awhile not, so alas! It took me so long to edit but I wanted to make sure it was as perfect as I could get it, as well as sleep on it for several days. Whoop, I’m pumped.
Speaking of being lazy, I finally loaded my Polaroid with film and you can see a picture of Dee with the graffiti in the comments!

The Small White Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium candidum) is a rare, endangered, perennial orchid with tiny white flowers that occurs in isolated patches in Ontario. As with all orchids, fungus found in the soil are interdependent for their nourishment and survival. The orchid requires approximately three years to produce its first leaf and as many as 16 years to produce its first flower after germination. The species is capable of extended dormancy, surviving underground for as long as six years, until suitable conditions occur for above ground growth.

For this photo I used some green and red stone mason’s chalk line powder that I put on a mirror. Then I tried to throw a ping pong ball on the powder to see what the impact in the powder would look like.

We just passed Equinox, and in my part of the World that means Autumn is officially here, and the rainy season is coming to an end. After months of cloudy weather, I can't wait to get my Telescope out again...
For the first time in a while the skies were clear last night. Here is closer look at the detail of the Impact Craters on the surface of the Moon, as seen from my backyard (from 26° Latitude in the Southern Hemisphere, on 20 March 2016).
I used a TeleVue PowerMate to get a bit closer than usual with my Wide Field Newtonian Astrograph Telescope. This is a tight crop of a stacked image sequence, and the photos were taken when the Moon was 5 days away from Apogee (its furthest distance away from the Earth).

Tonight is a good night.. Finally got it dialled in and got some good shots of drops colliding.
Took some work tho.. blue dye, white background, a single drop of dishwasher rinse aid (to lower surface tension) and hot water (to lower viscosity) and lots and lots of luck.
I was finishing up at the sea pool, Meadfoot beach, Torquay where I had been for an early morning shoot trying out my new Kase K8 filter holder with magnetic CPL. I set up at the edge of this gully and with the tide high capture the waves hitting the end of it. Anyway I waited then boom a strike. Luckily I managed to stay dry.
