Cooper, a 2-year-old yellow Lab, had a rough start in life with stomach issues, but his dog dad Sid said he is doing much better now. In fact, Sid said Cooper is “developing into a beautiful vibrant young male that I think is half duck. I could not keep him out of the water if I tried. If we could get paid for playing, we'd be rich.”
Although Joker, a Standard Poodle, is just a year old, “he’s already won my heart and the hearts of so many,” says his dog mom, Gail. “His thing is high jump - which I took a picture of him doing. He also received his AKC Canine Good Citizen certification at 8 months old. I have great expectations for this ‘clown,’ both in show biz and just being a dog. I'm so proud to be part of HIS life.”
Bella is a 7-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier. “Like most Pitties, her eyes are very expressive and ‘people like’ – they light up when she sees me come home, when I'm filling a Kong with peanut butter or when I say ‘Wanna go for a ride?’” says her dog mom, Amanda. “She is special because she has a Doxie older brother and constantly surprises people by letting a 8-pound wiener dog boss her around.”
Siblings Comanche and Serah are 5-year-old Rottweiler-Husky mixes who live with their dog mom Heather in Rockport, Mass.
Koda is a 7-month-old Australian Shepherd mix. “My boyfriend and I think she has two personalities that go with the two different-colored eyes,” says her dog mom, Killeen. “We like to say the brown eye is sweet/loving Koda. The blue eye is ‘Gizmo,’ a crazy monster who likes to eat your socks. The name Koda means best friend, and that is exactly what she is.”

Bobby Magee is a 6-year-old Westie. “When he came into our family he was fearful of everything, from being mistreated by his former family,” says his dog mom. “He has since become a wonderful and loving member of our family. He is known for his crooked canine tooth – it gives him character and individuality. We are blessed to have him. He keeps us entertained and has kept my husband laughing.”
Two-year-old Flash “has the best personality,” says his dog mom, Kathy. “He’s super-easy to live with but ready at the drop of a hat to work. Flash loves to swim and run agility. I want to believe that out of all of those things, he loves me best."
Zippy, a Standard Poodle who’s now 4 years old, was 9 weeks old in this photo. “I had only had Zippy a couple of days and managed to step on her when I was running one of my other dogs. I felt awful!” says her dog mom, Lisa. Fortunately no bones were broken, but Zippy’s foot was badly sprained, so she had to wear a soft cast for 10 days. “If you look at the photo, you will see that this did not stop her,” Lisa says. “I tried my best to keep it clean, but she would have none of it. It hardly slowed her down at all. She still does everything at full speed ahead.”
