There are many memorial benches along the trails in Letchworth State Park. This one is between the path and the rim of the gorge. It is quite lovely there in the dappled light. It is the only carved granite bench I have seen.

Letchworth Middle Falls

So many photographs I have taken here. The Lady is never quite the same as before.

Letchworth is a waterfall chaser's delight. There are the three main cascades on the Genesee River and there are innumerable falls of assorted shapes and sizes along the tributary creeks on both sides of the gorge.

Friday, June 3 I hiked the Letchworth State Park trail 1 along the west side of the Genesee River gorge end-to-end with a loop back. It was a beautiful day for hiking - a few clouds and high about 75F. I took lots of photographs with the Olympus OM2 and Ilford HP5. Gaia GPS said 15.1 miles for the entire trip, which makes me think trail 1 is longer than the published 7 miles.

The first challenge on the Springer Mountain approach trail was getting from the Reflecting Pool to the top of Amicalola Falls.

You go up one long flight, walk a short way on a mostly level path, then start up again. Several of the turnarounds had larger platforms for taking breaks and photographs.

(It appears that my Cinestill developer had had too many rolls of film developed with it. Both this and the previous roll were significantly under-developed. Cinestill one-step developer has its advantages, but I plan to go back to my Kodak D76.)

Climbing back up to the east rim at Letchworth State Park.

Between the state maintenance crews and the Friends of Letchworth, a few trails have been extended and several old ones have been cleared and re-blazed. This trail split off just past the lower falls footbridge area and followed a different route up.

There is a pull-off at the head of the trail along the east rim and down to the Lower Falls footbridge. I followed the trail down to and across the footbridge, up and around the short loop on the west rim, then back down and up the car.

Since Mark says the @deviantart WeeklyFotoChallenge is "underexposed", I decided to pull out this set from several weeks ago at Dublin Corners Farm Brewery. The whole series is silhouettes as I was shooting into a bright background; this one was underexposed as well. But it still worked reasonably well.
