Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I just loved all of the lines and shadows in the framing of this shot. Timed for the moment of ignition too and if you zoom in you can see the heat haze from the cigarette lighter. I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!

Special:
- There is some debate over when MG started. The company itself stated it to be 1924, although the first cars bore both Morris and MG badges and a reference to MG with the octagon badge appears in an Oxford newspaper from November 1923. Others dispute this and believe that MG only properly began trading in 1925.
- The first cars which were rebodied Morris models using coachwork from Carbodies of Coventry and were built in premises in Alfred Lane, Oxford but demand soon caused a move to larger premises in Bainton Road in September 1925 sharing space with the Morris radiator works. Continuing expansion meant another move in 1927 to a separate factory in Edmund Road, Cowley, Oxford, near the main Morris factory and for the first time it was possible to include a production line. In 1928 the company had become large enough to warrant an identity separate from the original Morris Garages and the M.G. Car Company Limited was established in March of that year and in October for the first time a stand was taken at the London Motor Show. Space again soon ran out and a search for a permanent home led to the lease of part an old leather factory in Abingdon, Oxfordshire in 1929, gradually taking over more space until production ended there in 1980.
- Originally owned personally by William Morris, the company was sold to Morris Motors (itself part of the Nuffield Organisation) in 1935. MG was absorbed into the British Motor Corporation in 1952, and latterly British Leyland (BL) in 1968. Under BMC, several MG models were no more than badge-engineered versions of other marques, with the main exception being the small MG sports cars.
- The MGB, designed by Pininfarina, was released in 1962 to satisfy demand for a more modern and comfortable sports cars. In 1965 the Fixed Head Coupé (FHC) Mark I followed : the MGB GT.
The Space within a hand held gas lighter and between the electrical contacts. When sufficiently charged a spark is given off which. When in a combustible atmosphere a flame is initiated. This spark is used in gas cookers, BBQ's and car engines.
Dawn ignition - Dawn at Ribblehead Viaduct at the moment the sun breaks from behind Pen-y-Ghent. As the January sky ignites the vivid hues from the first of the day's rays, Ribblehead viaduct stands silhouetted, silently standing over Batty Moss below.

Another misty telephoto shot from the other morning. As the wind picked up the mist was lifted into some amazing shapes as it collided with the outcrops of trees.
My first pre-dawn walk in a while. Fabulous late summer conditions looking from Glynde across the weald to the East.
One roads leads to two and suddenly there is a junction for traffic and the scope for decision, revision and division til contemplation arrives at cognition and transmigration induced by transmutation, we can somewhat transmogrified continue our transportation.
The metamorphosis that awaits at the cross roads, or the junction of ways gives us a chance to look at the roads not chosen as different fates, or potential we have the chance to transmogrify into the pupa and to transfigure through the imago and transmute into the butterfly that flutters down the right road, or the best road, or the only road beating our wind evoking wings as we proceed and progress in due procession to our ultimate goal.
The Chthonic Hekate is underwhelmed in the underworld by the sparkle of the above and the dark intentions from below that make some of the sparkle. She knows the outcome of each of the ways ways available to us. She might like to be acknowledged, but that does not mean that she will share her knowledge, unfortunately she is happy to leave us in self-knowledge that is mis-knowledge. The Triple Form of Hekate is full within the three phases and yet there is also a Forth Form. Her light in the darkness includes sparking, lighting, spluttering and also none igniting. Her symbol of three Moon in reflected illumination is also a symbol brightly obscuring her other form within the Dark, or New Moon. She is happy in the dark with her unilluminated vision and her brightness in the Full Moon also knows the New Moon visible on the horizon for just a few moments. Called for and sought at the Trivia Three Ways and crossroads also asked for and answered within the home where all junctions are started and ended and where insight and protection are often most required. From the ignition of Fresh Flame to Full Light through Dying Embers and within Extinguished Ashes she is never absent always available if you call on her without subconscious desire, rather with intent to take her hand with resolve to lead you on towards where you aspire.

I thought it would be awesome to see the moment of ignition of a match. So I worked & worked to get just the right timing on this image.
Finally! I have been trying to upload some new pictures for like 2 days and for some reason they just WOULD NOT upload! it's so frustrating, but at least finally this one got through! Is anyone else having this problem?! Or is it just my computer?
Much needed backpacking trip to the Eastern Sierras, CA. Hard to focus on work when scenes like this are waiting only a few hours away.
Well, wow, where do I start.
First, it was painful getting out of bed this morning. My alarm was set for 4:45AM. I only fell asleep last night at midnight. I debated cancelling. Seriously debated. But I had committed, and I hate backing out on a commitment.
Groggy shower. Used a flashlight to find a pair of swimming trunks in the dark. Still brain-fuzzy, looking around the house for various pieces of gear. Leave the house.
6AM, Long Lake. The sky looks promising. Erykah Tam - my subject, Susan Rohac - my assistant, and I struggle down to shore with various pieces of gear. It's 5C. None of us really want to do this. But that's a lie - of course we do.
All of us, in the water. Within minutes of setting up the sky turns more magical then I've seen for any creative shoot I've ever done in Yellowknife. And remains that way, through a shifting symphony of colour for close to an hour.
All three of us, chest-deep in water. It's freezing. At one point I accidentally submerged my lens in water. I think it's okay but I'm not sure.
Strangely, it's warm(ish) in the water. But probably not. We've probably just lost all feeling. We finish and go to shore. Then it hits us, and we're all numb and shivering. Head home. Tubs and showers. All come back to life.
..one more visit to this pier..this time with clouds and wind..too much wind:)

Sorry, I've been gone for awhile now but I will be posting some new pics soon and catch up with you all. In the meantime, this is an old archive of a sunrise in Sandy Beach in East Oahu.
One of my favorite landscape photographers is Tim Fitzharris and I saw one of his pic in a book that inspired me to compose a shot with the same spirit as his at this very same spot. Mahalo.
