Using the iPhone 11 Pro Max slow motion mode, these lightning strikes-discharges are 10x slower (240 fps) than what the eye sees. Over a 6 minute period, many multiple flashes were captured. A normal speed video would most likely have not seen anything but one quick flash.

Today we took my 95 year old Mother in Law to get her first Covid shot. My husband went in with her while I waited outside. I was the driver and dropped them both off and picked them up. It went very smoothly.

Our Daily Challenge: Elderly

Happy 96th birthday to Millie! This is my mother-in-law, Millie, who was born on July 10, 1925.

As an aside, can someone explain the floating blue hearts? They are obviously somehow connected to the candles. My sister-in-law placed them on the cake in the shape of an "M" for Millie. Every image with the candles lit, have the floating "M". There is absolutely nothing for them to reflect on.

We did it! My mom passed away last July. She was quite the collector. She had crystal collections, perfume bottle collections, Toby Mug collections, porcelain tea cup collections, Russian animal collections, Royal Doulton porcelain collections, old crock collections, carnival glass collections, milk glass collections, and more, but in addition to that she saved every bill ever paid, tax records going away back, images from many generations of our family, old postcards, need I go on? She was an artist and an artistic collector. It has been an arduous job, but somehow we have emptied the house, gone through each treassured article and emptied the house, Did I mention that Mom was quite the shopper? Emptying her closet was a job in itself. So many clothes and many with their tags still attached. I have made upteen trips of donations to the Helen Woodward Animal Hospital, the Goodwill, Salvation Army , the local Hospice thrift shop and even the assistant memory care facility that took care of my dad. Furniture has gone to a local consignment center with the hope of a sale and distributed to family and friends. There is a bit more in the garage, but the home is empty, ready for cleaning and going on the market later this week. I am exhausted and so relieved.

Top car of the event for me was this stunning Corvette. Even the brakes were spotlessly clean.

Our Daily Challenge: Gift of Light

LOL! What a perfect challenge for me today. This was the second day of our solar install, well after three and a half days of roof preparation. We have had no power, no light since very early this morning. We had a picnic dinner by candlelight followed by dish washing by candle light. And at just before eight pm the power was restored.. The workers were here for over thirteen hours today They worked hard and tirelessly until they could restore power for the night. Tomorrow they return to finish the job, and I am told that we will be without power for a short time. We are now more than grateful for the gift of light......and heat.........and stoves, etc.

Sorry folks, have caught what I thought was a bad cold, but it got worse. Did a lateral flow test - was negative. But my symptoms were a reminder of what I caught in Tromso at the beginning of the pandemic. At that time only two people in Norway had officially got Covid so it was unlikely I had Covid then.

Energy wasted away , headaches, muscle aches, total lack of appetite, didn't want to drink , sore throat and coughing like going out of fashion. And brain fog.

Didn't get tested then as no tests available.

That was all back in February 2020.

Fast forward to now December 2022 and all those symptoms were back and after doing a second lateral flow test bingo gone down with Covid - 19 for a second time.

That is despite all the covid booster jabs, wearing masks etc. But it confirms I did have Covid back in 2020. That time it took 4-6 weeks for my lungs to not have fluid in them and was having to sleep in bed with loads of pillows to keep my head and chest up.

But also the other day doing some accounts it was clear that the brain fog had returned and was a struggle to doing sums etc.

The image was my fourth attempt at zoom blur as the edges were just not good enough. It is still rubbish but that is my brain fog I believe kicking in again. Just not got the accuracy I should normally manage using Eraser in Photoshop.

So keep wearing the masks folks Covid is still lurking around ready to catch you out for Christmas and all those little parties and meet-ups.

We are still paying the price for whoever that virus came from two years on........

Going to be out of action for a time so apologies will not be doing much on Flickr.
