the control
- one of the relatively perfect mechanisms for regulating cognitive processes. Produced from basal drives, it is, as it were, a product of their secondary “delay” and can be regarded with respect to them as a motivational structure of a higher order. At the same time, it is a function and its goal is to catalyze the energy of drives according to the requirements of reality. So, control mediates the relationship of the individual with the environment so that both the needs of the individual and the objective properties of stimulation are taken into account. As a mechanism for regulating drives, control is comparable to protection, but acts in any situation, when solving any cognitive tasks and provides an approach to solving an affectively neutral task. The concept of control is closely related to the concept of cognitive style.

The Hyper, also called the S-type, was the first British supercharged production car with a 1.5 litre Meadows engine, and in 1928 a Lea-Francis Hyper won the Ulster TT, a 30-lap race on the 13.5-mile (21.7 km) Ards circuit on the roads of Northern Ireland in the hands of legendary race car driver Kaye Don.
