(Non animal lovers need not read)

I love dogs. Dog to me is the link of all that is pure, innocent, and embodiment of love in this World.

Not only I love my own dogs, I love all dogs. It hurts me deeply to see dogs who are neglected or mistreated.

This sweet young girl was born with a litter of 7 puppies by Michelle back in end of May. All her siblings have all been either given away or adopted, some of them can be seen here, here, here, and here. The owner, my cousin, decided to leave her with her mom.

Unfortunately, Michelle and her doesn't get along. She is a spirited one, full of energy, and unbridled enthusiasm. She's so hyper that Michelle gets annoyed at her at times, and pinned her down to punish her. I saw the disharmony between them and it just breaks my heart. Recently, I decided to bring some treats to give some obedience training to the young pup. Since no one has given her a name yet, I started to call her Kiki.

She's been always jumping on visitors, knocking over her mom Michelle, peeing instantly when she got excited. Using some simple techniques and lots of patience and assertiveness, I teach her to sit before getting a treat, and not jumping on people. I'm happy to report that Kiki's been improving steadily, and learning the proper behaviors.

Just when I left yesterday, I heard Michelle growling at her, when I turned back I saw Michelle was pinning her down and biting Kiki's mouth... I broke them off, and told Michelle it's OK, she's still a puppy. Then I caressed Kiki and told her that she got to behave and don't always irritate her mom. At that moment, Kiki calmed down completely. That's the calmest and most peaceful state I've ever seen her in. Kiki just melted. I suddenly realized deep inside of me that Kiki badly needed some love and tenderness. When she doesn't feel insecure and receives proper nurturing, she can behaves and grows healthily.

They are dogs who are properly loved and taken care of, and there are those who are not so fortunate. The consciousness of a civilization can be measured by the way they treat animals; the character of a person can be revealed by the way he cares for his pet. I pray that one day we can all learn to live harmoniously with animals around us.

Hyper Japan 2013

This is a hyper stereo 3D photo taken with my new modified camcorder rig ( stereo-base 24 cm ). To test it I took it to some open fields and took some landscape shots, you can see more results just uploaded on my photo-page.

This is about as wide as I can go with my dual Toshiba S20 Camcorder rig and still keep it portable and practical, it fits whole inside a shoulder bag, I can just turn them on and there ready to shoot.

Getting in to toy photography. It's really fun. :)

Hyper Japan isn't strictly a food and drink festival, but Tasting Britain keeps getting reinvited due to all the delicious food and drink on offer. Also we seem to be getting all âculturalâ these days. Anyway, for those who don't know stuff about Hyper Japan, it's probably the UK's biggest Japanese culture festival. Three days of anime, J-Pop gigs, sake tastings, people dressed as Naruto, video gaming, martial arts demos, sushi and me and my friends (which is not actually an âattraction' but I'd like to think we're attractive anyway).

Hyper Japan started in 2012, and by its own description is 'curated by local Japanese people, with the intent of introducing the âeclecticâ Japan to the UK'. As of this year (I think), has been held at the O2 Arena in Canary Wharf. However, what youâre looking at here, Hyper Japanâs Christmas Market, is a little different. Christmas themed, for a start - visitors are invited to âenjoy a Tokyo shopping experienceâ - and it really is more retail oriented. The atmosphere is vibrant, the weather is cold, the people are kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiii and the atmosphere isâ¦atmospheric (*dramatic music*).

Highlights from the event this year included a Kawaiicore band (this exists) called Lady Baby making their European debut. And The Eat-Japan Sushi Awards 2015 - supposedly the longest running sushi competition. This competition sees five sushi chefs (each repping their respective restaurant) taste testing various unique sushi creations on a willing (600 strong) audience, and whoever wins the popular vote wins the competition. 2013âs Sushi Awards winner, Yoshihiro Motohashi, was running the show at this yearâs Sushi Bar - serving up his award winning âHyper Rollâ (oh baby wanna see my Hyper Roll?). This yearâs winner? Henryanto Aloysius of Genji - and his 'Spicy Crunch sushi'.

Also good to see: interactive demonstrations and workshops such as Ippudo's ramen cooking session. And I must also mention the inaugural Sake Cocktail Awards (which you can see some pictures of the heats for). We got to try some of

Marco Rosina of Chotto Matteâs Chotto Jelly cocktail (Saturday), Marie Ariga (of Wazen)âs âOne Piece' and a third one, (a name I did not get! Turns out Marco won that round but I honestly believe the aforementioned third one was the true winner here (just take my word for it - thatâs the one with the guy pouring what looks like yoghurtâ¦. delicious yoghurt). All in all, Japanese culture is alternatively baffling, fun and amazing - and the Eat Japan food court never fails to deliver (on variety in the very least!). We will most certainly be back - arigato...
