Fading hydrangea, on their way out, (kind of like summertime) but still pretty, sitting on an old weathered table in the yard at my sister's vacation house.

Long day today ... 3 hour drive to soccer, soccer game with too much sun and wind (3-0 win, YEY!), then back to college to take my daughter to dinner, then to Walmart to buy YET MORE STUFF to shove into her dorm room, then drive home. Tomorrow we do it again. I'm going to get really sick of sitting in the car. Now...wishing I had put sunscreen on my face and not just on my arms, I am going to bed and hoping my face won't still be BRIGHT RED in the morning. (what a dope I am!)

Hydrangea macrophylla - It was growing in an extremely sunny location in Putnam County, Carmel,NY. The flower heads were big and pink, blue, lavender or a mixture of these colors! It is also known as: lacecap hydrangea or mophead hydrangea or bigleaf hydrangea.

Mix border of Annabelle, Limelight, and an unknown aborscens. Golden Shadows pagodo dogwood just barely in the picture. the mystery hydrangea was causing the other plants to grow at funny angles, so it was hack and slashed to the ground. Finesse scultping was provided to the cultivars.

I really like the look of an image stamped on vintage papers, such as dictionary pages or sheet music. I only have a few Copics, so didn't have enough colors to do various shades, but I think this is pretty anyway.

It was coincidence that I happened to grab this scrap of paper for the card, but I was pleased to see that the definition of heaven is on it.
