This was one of the flowers arranged down at the little garden where the crossing that's now at the Frog Bridge previously was. The arrangements are quite lovely. Carin informs me that this is a "hydrangea".

The first hydrangea flower of the year hiding at the top of the tree a few days ago. Now branches are bowing under the weight of flowers!
It's a typical plant in this part of Brittany.

The weather was really working well with me on this day. It remained cloudy and cool while I was walking around and observing everything and then the sun would break through the clouds while I was taking photos creating some nice dramatic lighting.
Hydrangea is a genus of 70–75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably Korea, China, and Japan. Most are shrubs 1 to 3 meters tall, but some are small trees, and others lianas reaching up to 30 m by climbing up trees. Wikipedia
