Hydrangea series from the Bowen Island "People, Plants, & Places" [PPP] Garden Tour 2018.
I didn't know such an incredible variety of colours and shapes existed in the hydrangea "family".
The lime coloured hydrangea transitions to 3 other colours during its blooming time!!! Amazing.
The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.
Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.
Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.
A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.
Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.
Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.
Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.
So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.
HYDRANGEA - Thank You for Understanding.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for your comments with all my heart, M, (*_*)

I never tire of seeing or photographing these beauties. It grows everywhere here and is incredibly beautiful at every stage of its life.
Hydrangea is derived from Greek and means ‘water vessel’ which is in reference to the shape of its seed capsules.
January 7, 2016: Due to the warm weather as of late, I've got a few dying hydrangeas that still have some color in them. I took a photos, but it wasn't up to snuff, so I placed it into PhotoScape until I got a look I liked.
I'm just going to have fun this Project 365 366.

... in my garden this early evening... I love the colour purple and in recent years have become most fond of all hydrangeas as they provide all year round interest and easy to look after, what's not to like. Happy Tuesday friends, almost back to normal, but not quite there yet.
Hydrangea is a genus of 70–75 species of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Japan, and Korea.
