Tiny Tree Hugger
This little one seems to appreciate the beauty of nature, and especially this tree that has the best textured bark to sink his claws in when he climbs. It was the first of the trees I got to see him climb, going so high up into the thin branches that I was holding my breath as he carefully made his descent.

Welcome to the Hug Deli. It’s always located on 9:00, right in between the esplanade and the man. Zoom into the photo and pick your favorite hug!
So I hugged quite a few trees this morning. :)
It's not as if I'm particularly partial to pine plantations... but if it wasn't for trees like these... then we probably wouldn't have any indigenous forests remaining?
Does a pine tree in South Africa deserve a hug? Or am I completely crazy for even considering hugging any tree? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter.
This is a five-image panorama... created by combining twelve different photos.
Some sort of juvenile crab spider (Xysticus sp.) trying to look cute enough to get a hug.
I think I shot this one on a car, but I can't really remember whose car it was. Mine is silver so it is definitely not that one.
Those are my nephew, my sister and my niece and this image represents, for me, the beauty of spending some time with them!
I suppose you could say that this female Red-bellied Woodpecker is environmentally friendly given her proclivity to hug this tree. It's just a wee difficult to work the head when the woodpecker is on this side of the tree trunk! It looks like it's all she can do just to hold on.

"La force du portrait c'est que, dans cette fraction de seconde on comprend un peu la vie de la personne qu'on photographie. Les yeux racontent beaucoup....Quand tu fais un portrait, ce n'est pas toi tout seul qui prend la photo ; la personne t'offre la photo".

Mother sea otters swimming on their backs while holding their pup on their stomachs are one of the cutest things on earth, and this is the cutest image I have of them. The mother was actually licking the pup and cleaning the fur on its face, but it made for a very tender moment.
I was hesitant to post this image because to my great dismay it is not tack sharp, but ultimately I love the image so much that I had to share it anyway.
