رسالة نحو جمهور مستهدف، يميز المؤسسة التجارية عن منافسيها ويدل على نشاط الشركة بشكل مبسط. لا يقتصر دور الشعار في التعريف بخدمات الشركة أو منتجاتها وحسب، بل يتعداه لإثارة العاطفة، وخلق الرغبة، ويعكس أهداف الشركة. وقد يتجاوز دوره أحياناً نحو دفع المستهلك لسلوك معين. على سبيل المثال شعار شركة jaguar جاكوار للسيارات على شكل نمر من فصيلة جاكوار يتخذ وضعية الوثب مما يرمز إلى رسالة غير مباشرة فحواها أن الشركة تمتلك سيارات مصقولة وسريعة ذات محركات قوية.

التجارية، في حين الشعار يعتبر جزء لا يتجزأ من الهوية التجارية. وهو جزء واحد من نظام الهوية التجارية، إلا أننا يمكننا القول بأنه أهم عنصر من عناصر بناء الهوية التجارية. إذا أردت أن تؤسس عملاً تجارياً قوياً، كن على وعي تام، بأن الشعار الخاص بشركتك ليس مجرد علامة عادية أو شكل جميل أحببته. انظر بشكل أعمق من ذلك، فهو فى أغلب الأحيان أول ما يلفت نظر العملاء ويشكل صورة ذهنية لديهم.
الشعار بمثابه تبيه وتذكير للجمهور المستهدف. كما إنه من التحديات التي تحمل دلالات ومعاني ورسالة بصرية تعكس أهداف وحقائق الشركة. لا تتعجب من شدة المنافسة بين الشركات لخلق شعار قوي يميزها عن منافسيها. التحدي الأكبر هو في كيفية إنشاء شعار يعكس جودة السلعة أو الخدمة التي تقدمها عبر سنوات دون الحاجه الى تغييره. هنا أهم خطوة يبدأ فيها المصمم أو صاحب العمل قبل البدأ بتصميم شعار وهي اختيار نوع الشعار الذي يناسب الشركة. تعددت أنواع الشعارات أذكر أهمها

The great Corrie ten Boom, a devout Christian and a survivor of Ravensbrück concentration camp (her father and sister didn't survive German incarceration), is better known in the US than in the Netherlands, unfortunately.
Like the Anne Frank House, the Ten Boom House harboured persecuted Jews in WW II. The Anne Frank House attracts almost a million paying visitors a year. It would be surprising to me if the Corrie ten Boom House, the admittance of which is free, attracts more than 100.000.
It is extremely moving. Please, pay it a visit, or read one of Corrie ten Boom's books like The Hiding Place.

The transmitter site of KSPN/710 AM, which was known in its glory years (1930 to 1997) as KMPC. It has in recent years been the West Coast flagship station for ESPN, with all-sports programming, including Los Angeles Lakers play-by-play.
It has long been 50,000 watts by day and 10,000 watts by night, and directional at night, using all three towers, to the south-southwest, across Los Angeles.
The facility sits on a large spread of land in the center of the San Fernando Valley (specifically, Valley Glen): land that is in the middle of suburbs and surely more valuable than the station itself at this point, as listening to the AM band is tanking.
This is surely why the owner, Disney, received a construction permit to move to the four-tower facility of KRDC/1110 in Irwindale, east of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. There it will be 35,000 watts by day and 2,500 watts by night: a smaller signal (especially at night) from a lesser location.
After that happens, this land will be sold, and the towers will come down. My bet, as I write this (the same day I shot it in April 2021), is that Disney will move KSPN's programming to the much bigger signal on 1110 AM (50,000 watts by day and 20,000 watts by night), and put something else on the new smaller signal on 710 AM.
So I shot these because I wanted to make sure the facility was honored photographically before it was gone.
The largest hemispherical building in the world, Stockholm Globe Arena in Sweden, represents the sun in the world's largest scale model of the Sweden Solar System. This Arena is primarily used for sports and musical performances.

Buxtehude liegt in der Metropolregion Hamburg am südlichen Rande des Alten Landes im Landkreis Stade in Niedersachsen. Mit rund 40.000 Einwohnern ist Buxtehude die zweitgrößte Stadt vom Landkreis Stade. Im Jahr 1197 wurde Buxtehude gegründet, 1328 erfolgte die Verleihung des Stader Stadtrechtes durch Erzbischof Borchard. Über die Este ist Buxtehude mit der 10 km entfernten Elbe verbunden. Der heutige Buxtehuder Hafen ist der Überrest der mittelalterlichen Reede, eines großen vor der Stadt gelegenen Hafenbeckens, in dem die Schiffe ankern konnten, bevor sie im Fleth, dem innerstädtischen Hafenkanal be- und entladen wurden. Noch 1912 wurden 557 angekommene Segelschiffe und 404 Dampfer gezählt. Durch die zunehmende Versandung vom Flussbett ist der Hafen heute nicht mehr mit grösseren Schiffen erreichbar. Es existiert nur noch ein Sportboothafen, der bei Niedrigwasser nahezu trockenfällt. Um 1363 wird Buxtehude als Hansestadt bezeichnet - seit 2014 hat die Stadt wieder diesen offiziellen Titel verliehen bekommen.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was passed with hope that tribe-operated casinos would provide a steady source of income for Native American communities. The income genereated from these casinos would aid reservation economic development. Many tribal governments have seen great improvements in their ability to provide public services to their members, building schools, making infrastructural improvements, and shoring up the loss of native traditions. The casinos have changed the economic climate in and around the reservations. Of course, there have been positive changes as well as negative changes. The positive changes include young adults moving back to reservations, adult employment increasing by 26 percent, and a 14 percent decline in the number of working poor. In counties with or near a casino, the employment- to- population ratio has increased and mortality has declined. The negative changes include a 10 percent increase in auto thefts, larceny, violent crime, and bankruptcy in areas near a casino, and an increase in bankruptcies within 50 miles of a new casino. In 2006, Congress introduced legislation to amend the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act to attempt to address some of the above concerns.

Qué?
Tras la masiva campaña de recolección de llaves que hizo realidad al primer monumento de bronce a Ernesto Che Guevara en Argentina, inaugurado el 14 de junio de 2008 en la ciudad de Rosario, nos proponemos un desafío mayor en términos cuantitativos, bajo la misma estructura organizativa y apelando a la solidaridad de una gran cantidad de personas de todo el país y el exterior. Estamos construyendo el "Monumento a los Pueblos Originarios", simbolizados en la figura de una mujer de 10 metros y varias toneladas de bronce solidario. La resistencia indígena y su renacer en todas las naciones hermanas estarán reflejados en esta figura íntimamente ligada a la Pachamama, con una fuerte mención a la vida y a la construcción de un futuro y una identidad que nos incluya a todos.
Por qué?
Vemos al arte colectivo como un generador de actos simbólicos que inspiran cambios de conciencia necesarios para consolidar modificaciones a nivel social, y porque esta obra construida por miles de personas ayudará a hacer visibles a tantos hermanos originarios que son parte de nuestra identidad. Es necesario e imprescindible que el pueblo se sienta coautor de esta expresión artística, dándole la categoría de obra popular y colectiva
Para qué?
Creemos necesario que se haga un reconocimiento a nuestros pueblos originarios, en un acto que signe con firmeza un cambio de actitud respecto a nuestra identidad como país. Reivindicar los más de 500 años de resistencia contra la conquista y la explotación, recordar a las tribus diezmadas, revalorar la cosmovisión indígena de respeto hacia todo lo vivo en absoluta armonía con la madre naturaleza, y acompañar desde el sur del continente el vigoroso renacer nativo de nuestra Patria Grande.
Quiénes?
Encabeza dirigiendo el proyecto el artista plástico Andrés Zerneri, autor de la segunda escultura al Comandante Che Guevara en nuestra América y el Caribe, después de la emplazada en Cuba, junto al reconocido historiador Osvaldo Bayer, quien fue mentor de la idea. Hoy participa una gran cantidad de jóvenes de diversos sectores, organizados en comisiones(*) (Prensa, bronce, pueblos, políticas y logística) y conformados como Movimiento Memoria y Organización (M.M.O.), siglas compartidas con Monumento a la Mujer Originaria. Y fundamentalmente contamos con la anuencia expresa y documentada de los propios Pueblos Originarios que participan legitimando esta tarea.

Cómo?
Convocando a miles de personas a través de distintas estrategias de comunicación para que aporten llaves u otros objetos de bronce en los centros de acopio ubicados en distintas localidades y provincias de todo el país. Este es un proyecto donde no interviene el dinero.
Dónde?
La escultura de 10 metros se construirá en un galpón ubicado en el predio de la ex-ESMA (ex centro clandestino de detención y desaparición de personas de la última dictadura); allí también llevaremos a cabo una serie de actividades de difusión para promover este proyecto. Contemplamos donar la escultura a la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, con la condición que sea emplazada en reemplazo de la figura del Gral. Roca, responsable del asesinato de cientos de miles de originarios en la Patagonia y responsable también de sembrar desde el estado todo un orden de racismo e intolerancia para con lo nativo.
Cuándo?
Tenemos como objetivo juntar 10 toneladas de bronce para antes del 2013. Estamos convencidos que con el apoyo de organizaciones originarias, de Derechos Humanos y la voluntad popular lo lograremos.

Le 23 mai 2015, les citoyens du monde entier, dans une cinquantaine de pays et plus de 30 villes françaises, marcheront à nouveau contre Monsanto et consorts (Bayer, Syngenta, les multinationales des OGM et des pesticides). Toutes et tous dans la rue pour condamner ce modèle agricole accro à la chimie et aux manipulations du vivant, imposé au détriment des peuples et des paysans qui les nourrissent !
Lancées de façon autogérée par des citoyens soucieux de s’engager, ou par des militants associatifs locaux, ces marches sont des événements ouverts, sur un positionnement 100% citoyen, sans étiquette politique.
Nos revendications
Assez d’empoisonnement ! En mars 2015, le Centre international de recherche sur le cancer de l’Organisation mondiale de la santé classait le Roundup de Monsanto, l’herbicide le plus vendu au monde et indissociable de la culture des OGM, comme « probablement cancérogène ». Nous exigeons la prise en compte des études indépendantes sur les conséquences toxiques des OGM, pesticides et hormones de croissance, sur notre santé et sur l’environnement, ainsi que l’attribution de budgets publics permettant l’indépendance totale de la recherche sur ces sujets. Nous réclamons le retrait immédiat des produits toxiques abusivement présents sur le marché, pour agriculteurs ou jardiniers, et plus particulièrement le Roundup et les néonicotinoïdes tueurs d’abeilles.
OGM et Tafta, même combat ! Nous affirmerons notre opposition au projet de Grand marché transatlantique (TAFTA ou TTIP), cheval de Troie des multinationales de l’agrobusiness pour imposer les OGM et réduire toujours davantage les normes sanitaires destinées à protéger la santé des consommateurs. Demain, avec le TAFTA, des entreprises comme Monsanto pourraient attaquer les moratoires des États opposés à la culture des OGM devant des tribunaux d’arbitrage privés, et réclamer des indemnités de plusieurs millions puisées dans les deniers publics.
Réapproprions-nous les biens communs, contre les intérêts privés d’une minorité ! Nous exigeons la cessation immédiate des brevets sur les semences et le vivant, régulièrement entachés de biopiraterie, et la liberté d’usage des semences de ferme, ainsi que leur échange entre jardiniers amateurs, car il est inacceptable que des entreprises privées aient la mainmise sur une diversité génétique qui appartient à toute l’humanité, qui est le fruit d’un savoir-faire millénaire, et qui constitue la source de toute alimentation humaine. Il est inadmissible que dans de nombreux pays, particulièrement du Sud, les « lois semencières » dictées par les multinationales menacent la souveraineté alimentaire et criminalisent, comme de vulgaires voleurs, les paysans et paysannes qui produisent et échangent des semences traditionnelles.
Une alimentation saine pour tous ! Nous dénonçons la dérive des fermes-usines où des animaux sont parqués dans des cages pour être gavés d’OGM, sans qu’aucun étiquetage sur la viande n’éclaire le choix du consommateur. Le 23 mai nous manifesterons notre volonté d’une agriculture écologique, relocalisée, respectueuse des travailleurs agricoles comme des écosystèmes, et d’une alimentation capable de garantir notre santé et celle de nos enfants. L’agriculture biologique, sans OGM ni pesticides toxiques, respectant les équilibres climatiques, ne doit pas devenir une niche commerciale réservée à un public averti ou privilégié, mais bien la solution pour offrir une alimentation saine pour TOUS. Une première étape serait le passage de toutes les cantines scolaires et restaurants collectifs à des menus « 100 % bio » afin de soutenir les transitions d’agriculteurs désireux de faire évoluer leurs pratiques.

Lancé par Nicolas Hulot, envoyé spécial du président de la République pour la protection de la planète, le Sommet des Consciences réunit le 21 juillet 2015 à Paris, au CESE plus d'une quarantaine personnalités morales et religieuses du monde entier pour répondre à la question « The climate, why do I care ? » et lancer ensemble un « Appel des Consciences pour le climat ».
Une mobilisation des consciences de tous le habitants de la planète s’impose pour réussir le défi auquel l’humanité est confrontée : limiter le réchauffement du climat en diminuant sa consommation d’énergies fossiles et permettre à tous de s’adapter aux conditions nouvelles !
Le Temps est compté. Ce n’est plus seulement une question écologique, économique ou politique. C’est l’avenir de l’humanité qui est en jeu. Chacun de nous se doit de répondre maintenant à la question : est-ce qu’il m’importe que l’aventure de l’humanité sur Terre puisse se poursuivre ? Est-ce que je suis prêt à modifier dès aujourd’hui mon mode de vie pour que nos enfants et leurs enfants puissent vivre dans des conditions supportables ?
L'Appel des consciences
Il est fondamental que les consciences des hommes et des femmes de cette planète s'expriment ensemble, quelques soient leurs conditions, leurs religions, leurs philosophies.
La campagne "Why do I care ?" invite chacun à témoigner, et à faire savoir autour de lui, pourquoi la lutte contre le réchauffement climatique est importante et nous concerne chacun.

This is one of the major classics of 50s sci fi movies. Released in April of 1951, it was the first full-length film to feature a flying saucer from outer space, which carried a hostile alien. The budget and the effects are typical B-grade stuff, but the acting and pacing are well above the usual B levels. Kenneth Toby and Margaret Sheriden star. James Arness (more known for his westerns) plays The Thing.
Howard Hawks' early foray into the science fiction genre took advantage of the anti-communist feelings of the time to help enhance the horror elements of the story. McCarthyism and the Korean War added fuel to the notion of Americans stalked by a force which was single of mind and "devoid of morality." But in the end, it is American soldiers and scientists who triumph over the evil force - or the monster in the case of this film. Even today, this is considered one of the best of the genre.

There's not a lot new or particularly insightful I can offer when it comes to discussing the seminal sci-fi flick, The Thing from Another World that hasn't been written about ad naseum elsewhere. One of the most famous and influential of all 1950s creature features, it kicked off more than a decade of alien invasion and bug-eyed monster movie mayhem, inspired a host of future filmmakers (one of whom, John Carpenter, would go on to direct his own version of the story in 1982), and remains one of the best-written and engaging films of its kind.
Loosely (and I do mean loosely) adapted from John W. Campbell's novella, "Who Goes There?," The Thing is legendary director Howard Hawks' lone foray into the science fiction/ horror genres, but it fits comfortably into his filmography, featuring as it does Hawks' favorite themes: a group of tough professionals doing their job with ease, good-humored banter and practiced finesse; a bit of romance with a gutsy dame who can easily hold her own with the boys; and lots of overlapping, razor-sharp dialogue. Featuring a script by Charles Lederer and an uncredited Ben Hecht, The Thing is easily the most spryly written and funniest of all 50s monster movies. In fact, it's this sharpness in the scripting, and the extremely likeable ensemble cast of characters, rather than the now-familiar story and somewhat unimaginative monster design, that makes the film still feel fresh and modern to this day.
There's likely few people out there reading this who don't know the story of The Thing like the back of their hand, but here goes...When an unidentified aircraft crashes close to a remote research station near the North Pole, Captain Pat Hendry (Kenneth Tobey, in the role of his career) and his squad are dispatched there to investigate. Dr. Carrington (Robert Cornthwaite) heads the scientific contingent there, and he informs Hendry that he thinks the downed craft is possibly "not of this earth." A joint team of soldiers and scientists head out to the crash site and find an actual, honest-to-goodness flying saucer lying buried under the ice.
The spaceship is destroyed while the men try to melt the ice around it with thermite bombs, but they find a lone, 8-foot-tall extraterrestrial occupant frozen nearby and bring the body back to the outpost in a block of ice. Dr. Carrington and his crew of eggheads want to study the thing, but Hendry is adamant that it should be kept as is until he gets word from his superior in Anchorage, General Fogerty. It wouldn't be a monster movie without something going pear-shaped, of course, and before you know it, a careless mistake results in the creature being thawed out of his iceberg coffin and going on a bit of a rampage, taking out a number of sled dogs and a few unsuspecting scientists along the way. The rest of the film details the tense battle between the surviving humans and the coldly intelligent, remorseless alien invader, which seems virtually unkillable, impregnable to cold, bullets and fire...
The set-up for the film, and how everything eventually plays out, might seem overly familiarly nowadays, but in 1951, this was cutting-edge stuff, at least in cinemas. The Thing plays as a veritable blueprint of how to make a compelling "alien monster-on-the-loose" movie. Howard Hawks not being particularly well-versed, or even interested in, science fiction per se likely worked to its benefit, as he ended up making, as he so often did in his other films, what is first-and-foremost a well-oiled entertainment, rather than simply a genre exercise.
Typical of a Hawks film, The Thing is meticulously designed, composed and shot, but in such a way as to appear offhand. Hawks almost never went in for showy camera angles or flashy effects. His technique was nearly invisible; he just got on with telling the story, in the most straightforward, unfussy way. But this easy, seemingly effortless style was very carefully considered, by a shrewd and knowing mind. As Bill Warren, author of one of the best (and certainly most encyclopedic) books about 1950s sci-fi filmmaking, Keep Watching the Skies, notes in his detailed analysis of the film:
As most good movies do, The Thing works in two areas: sight and sound. The locale is a cramped, tunnel-like base; the men are confined within, the Thing can move freely outdoors in the cold. Compositions are often crowded, with more people in the shot than seems comfortable, reinforcing the idea of confinement After the Thing escapes, only the alien itself is seen standing and moving alone.
This feeling of a cold, hostile environment outside the base is constantly reinforced throughout the film, and a real tension mounts when, towards the climax, the highly intelligent Thing, itself immune to the subzero arctic conditions, turns off the compound's heating, knowing the humans inside will quickly die without it. (The freaky, otherworldly theremin-flavored music by Dimitri Tiomkin adds a lot to the eerie atmosphere here.)
As groundbreaking and well-structured as the plot of The Thing was (and is), what makes the film play so well today is the great script and the interaction of a bunch of seasoned character actors, who toss off both exposition and pithy bon mots in such a low-key, believable manner. This is a truly ensemble movie, and the fact that it doesn't feature any big name stars really adds to the overall effect; no one really hogs all the limelight or gets the lion's share of good lines. Hawks was a director who usually worked with the biggest names in the business, but, much as in the earlier Air Force, he was equally at home working with a cast of rock-solid character actors.
All this talk of Howard Hawks as director, when it's actually Christian Nyby who is credited with the job, has long been a source of speculation with fans of the film. Todd McCarthy, in his bio Howard Hawks: The Grey Fox of Hollywood, seems to clear the issue up once and for all (though really, after viewing enough Hawks films, the results speak for themselves):
The perennial question surrounding The Thing From Another World has always been, Who actually directed it, Christian Nyby or Howard Hawks? The sum of participants' responses make the answer quite clear. Putting it most bluntly, (associate producer) Ed Lasker said "Chris Nyby didn't direct a thing. One day Howard was late and Chris said,'Why don't we get started? I know what the shot should be.' And I said, 'No, Chris, I think we'll wait until Howard gets here." Ken Tobey testified, "Chris Nyby directed one scene. Howard Hawks was there, but he let Chris direct one scene. We all rushed into a room, eight or ten of us, and we practically knocked each other over. No one knew what to do." Dewey Martin, Robert Cornthwaite and Richard Keinen all agreed that Hawks was the director, and Bill Self said, "Chris Nyby was a very nice, decent fellow, but he wasn't Howard Hawks."
Nyby had been Hawks' editor on a number of films, and Hawks apparently decided to help his collaborator establish a name for himself by allowing him directorial credit on the film. This seemingly altruistic gesture didn't mean that Hawks wasn't involved in virtually every aspect of the making of the film, however, and ultimately, The Thing did little for Nyby's directing career, at least on the big screen (he did go on to a long and busy career directing for numerous television programs, however.)
Bill Self was told at the time that Hawks didn't take directing credit on The Thing because it was planned as a low-budget film, one in which RKO didn't have much confidence. But, as critics have been saying ever since it was released, The Thing is a Howard Hawks film in everything but name. The opening scene of various members of the team bantering is so distilled as to be a virtual parody of Hawksian overlapping dialogue. Even more than Only Angels Have Wings, the picture presents a pristine example of a group operating resourcefully in a hermetically sealed environment in which everything in the outside world represents a grave threat. In addition to all the masculine camaraderie and spooky goings-on, one of the best aspects of The Thing is the fun, charming little tease of a romance between Capt. Hendry and Nikki (top-billed Margaret Sheridan). Nikki works as Prof. Carrington's assistant and is not merely the requisite "babe" in the film. True to the Hawksian norm, she's no pushover when it comes to trading insults with the men, nor a shrinking violet when up to her neck in perilous situations. Unlike most actresses in 50s monster movies, she doesn't utter a single scream in The Thing
and in fact, it's her practical suggestion which gives Bob, Hendry's ever-resourceful crew chief (Dewey Martin), the notion of how to finally kill the monster. Lederer and Hecht's screenplay hints at the backstory to Nikki and Pat's relationship in humorous and oblique ways, and their flirtation amidst all the chaos adds sparkle to the film but never gets in the way of the pace of the story. One nice little throwaway exchange near the finale encapsulates their verbal give-and-take, as Nikki playfully pokes the temporarily-befuddled Hendry, as his men scurry about, setting Bob's plan in motion.
Nikki: Looks as if the situation's well in hand.
Hendry: I've given all the orders I'm gonna give.
Nikki: If I thought that were true, I'd ask you to marry me.
Sheridan, a former model signed to a 5-year contract by Hawks, is quite good here, but after The Thing her career never really caught fire and she retired from acting a few years later. The closest thing to a star turn in the film is Kenneth Tobey as Capt. Hendry. Tobey racked up an impressive number of credits throughout his nearly 50-year-long career, generally as gruff, competent military men or similar types, and he was always good value, though it's as Capt. Hendry in The Thing that he truly shines. He consistently humanizes the no-nonsense, take charge man of action Hendry by displaying an easygoing approach to command. Most of Hendry's men call him by his first name, and delight in ribbing him about his budding romance with Nikki, and he responds to all this joshing in kind. When things get hairy, Tobey's Hendry doesn't have to bark his orders; it's clear that, despite the friendly banter, his men hold him in high esteem and leap to do his bidding at a moment's notice.
Many of the other members of the cast, while none of them ever became household names, will likely be recognizable from countless other roles in both film and television. Hawks gave Dewey Martin co-star billing in The Big Sky a few years later. Robert Cornthwaite kept busy for decades on stage and television, as well as in supporting roles in films such as Monkey Business, Kiss Me Deadly and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? John Dierkes (Dr. Chapman) and Douglas Spencer (Scotty) both had juicy roles in the western classic Shane, as well as many other movies too numerous to name. Sharp-eyed viewers will also recognize Eduard Franz, Paul Frees (he of the famous voice) and Groucho Marx's right-hand man on You Bet Your Life, George Fenneman, in pivotal roles. And of course we mustn't forget 6' 7" James Arness (years before becoming renowned as Marshall Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke) as the hulking Thing.
A quick note on the "remake": John Carpenter's The Thing (1982), a bleak, grisly and brilliant take on the story, was a box-office dud when first released, but has since attained well-deserved status as a modern classic. While most fans seem divided into two camps - those who love the more restrained, old-fashioned thrills of the original, and those who prefer the more visceral, paranoiac Carpenter version - I happen to treasure both films equally and revisit each of them often. The Carpenter version is by far the gutsier, unsettling one, emphasizing as it does the "trust no one," shape-shifting "the alien is one of us" scenario imagined by John W. Campbell, but the Hawks' film is the most fun, with a far more likeable array of characters, working together to defeat an implacable menace. Each has its own clear merits. I wouldn't want to do without either film, and frankly see no need to choose one over the other.

Um 14.00 Uhr war es am Parkplatz Süd der Shopping City Süd soweit, als Youtube Ikone Ken Block seinen 650 Ps starken Ford Fiesta von 0 auf 100km/h in nur 1,9 Sekunden durch den Gymkhana Parcours fegte. Der Event hatte freien Eintritt, für Hardcore-Fans gab es eine kostenpflichtige „Prefered-Standing“ Tribüne mit 4500 Plätzen.
Gymkhana heißt, einen Hindernissparcour mit vollster Geschwindigkeit und Konzentration so schnell wie möglich zu durchdriften. Der Asphalt des Parkplatz Süd glühte, als US Ralley Boy Ken Block mit 160 km/h durch die Kurve driftete.
SCS Süd war der Fixpunkt aller Motorsportfans - auch Anton Cech, Center Manager der SCS, beobachtete gespannt auf die spektakulären Aktionen des Rally Superstars Ken Block: „Die Shopping City Süd war zwei Tage lang ein Fixpunkt im Kalender aller Motorsportfans, unter anderem erwarten die Besucher eine exklusive Autogrammstunde und Gewinnspiele.

Master of Dirt - Freestyleshow ließ die Herzen der Besucher höher schlagen, als die Fahrer von Masters of Dirt sich mit ihren Motorrädern und Mountainbikes über die Rampen katapultieren. Tricks wie der „Backflip“, auch „Rückwärts Salto“, standen hier an der Tagesordnung.

Auf den Mountainbikes: Sam Reynolds (UK) und Bienvenido Aguardo (ESP), der Spanier, der in der SCS bei Masters of Dirt mit seinem „double Frontflip“ das Publikum zum Toben brachte.
Stunt-Show- Superbike-Freestyleteam die „Vienna Streetrockaz“ und „Harley King“ Rainer Schwarz, der mit seiner 300 kg schweren Maschine das Unmögliche möglich machte.
Show Acts - die richtige Stimmung vorort sorgten dann noch die heißen „Fuel Girls“, die extra aus England eingeflogen wurden, und die Trommler der „Drumatical“. Cooles Live Konzert - “Die Vamummtn“ – eine österreichische Hip-Hop-Band – in der Szene auch Vamus genannt.

Duvenstedt ist ein Stadtteil der Hansestadt Hamburg im Bezirk Wandsbek und wurde erstmals 1261 urkundlich erwähnt. Die Bauern leisteten zu diesem Zeitpunkt ihren Zehnten an das Hamburger Domkapitel. Der Herzog von Lauenburg verpfändete das Dorf im Jahre 1571 an den holsteinischen Herzog Adolf. Seit dem 15. Jahrhundert gehörte es zum alten landesherrlichen Amt Tremsbüttel. Ab 1693 kam es wirtschaftlich zum neu gebildeten Kanzleigut Tangstedt, dem bis in das Jahr 1876 Hand- und Spanndienste geleistet werden mussten. 1830 bestanden in Duvenstedt sieben Voll- und acht Halbhufen sowie 16 Hauseigentümerstellen.Mit der endgültigen Einführung der preußischen Kommunalverfassung 1889 kam Duvenstedt zum Amtsbezirk Tangstedt im Kreis Stormarn. 1938 wurde es im Rahmen des 1937 beschlossenen Groß-Hamburg-Gesetzes nach Hamburg eingemeindet. Der 6,8 km² grosse Stadtteil Duvenstedt hat ca. 6000 Einwohner.
On the remote Island of Svalbard, Norway (about 1,300km from the North
Pole) the Global Seed Vault has been constructed to house more than 820,000
packets of crop seeds. This project is an international intiative to ensure the
survival of the worlds food supply and as such the vault has been designed to
withstand global catastrophies including wars, natural disasters and extinction
level events.
The seed bank is 120 metres inside a sandstone mountain and has been
refigerated to a temperature of -18 °C. The projects major goal was to ensure
the survival of these vastly important seeds and as such the Svalbard Global
Seed Vault has been constructed to last for over 1,000 years.
The projects engineers determined that a high performance, non corrosive
product was required in the shotcretes reinforcement. EPC’s BarChip was able
to meet these requirements. With industry leading performance and durabilty
the engineers were confident in BarChip to survive the 1,000 year lifespan of
this project.
An identified issue in the environment was the potential for melting ice which
could create a corrosive environment. BarChip is non corrosive and does not
rust meaning melting ice would not prove harmful to BarChip, unlike steel
alternatives, which may rust. Furthermore, testing has shown that BarChip
products retain 99% of their toughness after 1 years exposure.
Along with industry leading durability, BarChip was also chosen for its low cost
per joule, low carbon footprint, high performance, safe and light to handle
nature and ability to minimise construction time.

1ère édition de la Rocamburlesque Cup !!!
Le dimanche 4 juin, à partir de 11h aura lieu au stade Duguay Trouin un tournoi de football pas comme les autres !!
En effet seul le beau jeu et le plaisir est à l'honneur en cette journée ! Le jeu ira bien au delà de l'enjeu pour ce tournoi.
Réservé aux amoureux du ballon rond, aux footeux (et fans de Foot) qui ont vibré devant les fantasques Ronaldinho, Zizou, Raul et consorts, pour les personnes qui ne connaissent qu'un seul Ronaldo, le véritable, pour les joueurs qui auraient souhaité avoir une carrière précise, celle de Georges Best...
Ce tournoi est finalement réservé aux amoureux du ballon et toute les choses POSITIVES qui gravites autour !!
Ce tournoi est bien sûr ouvert à tous le monde, les rugbymans, handballeurs, et autres sportifs sont la bienvenue !!
Le tournoi débutera à 11h30 sous une formule championnat permettant de jouer un maximum de matchs, la finale se jouera aux alentours de 19h30.
Suite à ce tournoi, profitant du fait que le lendemain soit férié, une soirée Burger sous une grande tonnelle avec musique clôturera cette belle journée.
Les personnes ne participantes pas aux tournois sont elles aussi conviées à cette soirée, il vous suffira de réserver vos places (10€ par personne) pour profiter de l'événement.
*Pour faciliter l'organisation, merci de réserver vos places en avance, lors de l'inscription au tournoi par exemple*
De nombreuses animations accompagneront la journée et la soirée (nous avons pensé aux personnes qui ne souhaitent pas participer au tournoi pour diverse raison #PiedsCarrés mais qui souhaiteraient tout de même se joindre à l'événement pour le plaisir des yeux...) avec des animations ventriglisse par l'association "Slip'n Slide 51", des animations palets par l'association affiliée à la FFPPB (Fédération Française de Palais sur Planche en Bois) qui nous fait l'honneur de se déplacer de Paris avec son Président, son secrétaire et sa Présidente d'honneur, afin de nous faire une petite démonstration, mais aussi en fin de journée un tournoi de Beer Pong, etc...
Est compris dans l'inscription du tournoi, le repas du midi (galette saucisse frite) par joueur.
Le tournoi aura lieu sur le terrain d'honneur (en herbe) de Duguay Trouin, nous jouerons sur demi terrain, le nombre de joueurs est de 6 + un gardien + 2 remplaçants.
Concernant les lots, notre partenaire "Le Comptoir" fournira la totalité de nos récompense.
Seront récompensé :
L'équipe remportant la ROCAMBURLESQUE CUP
L'équipe la plus Rocamburleque (Fair Play, déguisements, humour,...etc)
La joueuse ou le joueur le mieux habillé (Thème de cette année "les tenues de footballeur des années 80")
+ de nombreux lots distribués au cours de la journée (100ème but du tournoi, la meilleure célébration, mise en place d'un fil rouge,...etc)
Je pense que vous avez bien compris l'esprit de cette journée, en espérant vous voir nombreux, nous attendons avec impatience vos inscriptions (faites vite nous clôturerons nos inscription à 16 équipes, cet événement à part se remplit déjà très vite...)
