1. What was your favorite pet? A cat. I've mostly had cats, and just one dog when I was a kid.
2. What was it's name? Ace. Shhhhhh - don't tell the other cats. Ace now lives with my parents, that's how much I love them, I let them have my favorite cat!
3. How old were you when you got your first pet? We always had pets, but I got my own kitten for the first time when I was 3. I named her Yo-yo, and I terrorized her. Poor girl.
4. What do you feed your favorite pet under the table? Ice cream. One of the cats is not at all interested in people food, the other will eat anything.
5. Where do you like to take your pet on trips? Nowhere. The older one freaks out if I even carry her near the door. She's a house cat through and through.
6. What is your pets favorite toy? Little stuffed mice
7. What is the coolest trick your pet can do? Act like a human. We like to make her dance on her back legs.
8. Did you adopt your pet or buy it from a breeder? Adopted.
9. Where is the furthest you've taken your pet on a trip? Syracuse - about an hour and half away.
10. What is the most extravagant thing you've purchased for your pet? A little kitty tent.
11. What is your favorite breed? I desperately want a Boston Terrier or maybe an English Bulldog.
12. Describe your pet in one word. Spoiled!

About the archive:
The Nicholson Museum holds over 1800 glass-plate negatives taken by Woodhouse while in Greece in 1890s and early 1900s. A small portion of the archive also includes photographs of his family in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia. The collection documents important archaeological sites, significant landscapes of the Greek mainland, contemporary buildings and the people he met along the way. His archive is a rich resource capturing many sites pre-archaeological excavation and before modern industrial development. Some of the photographs were published by Woodhouse in his book 'Aetolia: its geography, topography, and antiquities' published in 1897. His desire to capture Greece on 'film', was simply put in his introduction: "History only attains its full value by borrowing actuality from geography and topography". The archive shows his love not only for the sites but also for the people and spirit of Greece.
About the project:
We are asking you to contribute to our documentation of this collection and assist us with the identification of the hundreds of different monuments and places in Greece. The title of each photograph will include the museum registration number (NM2007.##.##) and may already include a place name where museum staff or Woodhouse himself have titled the image.
All of our flikr contributors will be acknowledged when the collection is published through our online collections at the completion of the project.

I Powerman 5000 nascono a Boston nel 1991, basati sull'Alternative metal, l'Industrial metal e il Punk rock. Il leader Spider One (Michael Cummings) è il fratello minore di Rob Zombie, per cui apodo il concerto all’Alcatraz.
I Powerman 5000 nascono a Boston in Massachusetts, dove il gruppo proponeva molti spettacoli e ha prodotto due CD, nel 1994 True Force e nel 1995 The Blood Slpat Rating System. Con un lavoro senza rivali e un grande supporto dei fan la band iniziò a dominare nelle scene rock di Boston, così facendo, arrivarono anche molte proposte di etichetta importanti. Il 1997 fu un grande anno per Spider e i compagni; si registrarono alla DreamWorks Records con la quale fecero debuttare il loro primo album, Mega!! Kung Fu Radio. Un anno di tour con Marilyn Manson, seguiti dai Korn e Ozzfest, dando loro una fama nazionale e aumentando di gran numero i loro fan. Il loro album pubblicato nel 1999 Tonight The Stars Revolt! contiene hits come When Worlds Collide e Nobody's Real che fecero vendere più di un milione di copie. Anyone For Doomsday? è l'album registrato nel 2001 e la sua pubblicazione è stata rimandata di settimane. La canzone Relax dei Powerman 5000 è stata introdotta nel film Zoolander.

Hablar de la pasta alla carbonara es peligroso, porque es una de las recetas en torno a la cual he oído y leído más peleas, y más violentas, que ninguna otra. Parece mentira, porque la componen pocos ingredientes, pero es que no se ponen de acuerdo ni en estos, ni con las cantidades, ni el tipo de pasta, ni el método a seguir para mantecar la pasta con el condimento para cocinar una verdadera carbonara, fiel a la receta original. Rigatoni vs Spaghetti, guanciale vs pancetta, pecorino vs parmesano, que si se hace sólo con yema, que si mitad y mitad o los huevos enteros; que si el guanciale se añade al huevo batido o salteamos primero la pasta con el guanciale y luego el huevo … Bufff … ¡Es para volverse loco! Yo me pregunto sin embargo, si por lo que he leído y preguntado, existen diferentes hipótesis en torno a estos secretos “carbonarils”, ¿A quién hago caso? ¿Por qué pelearse, si sólo puedes justificar tu argumento con joyas tipo “porque soy romano y en mi casa se hace así”. ¡Pero si ni entre los mismos que os autorizáis con el rollo del origen, no os ponéis de acuerdo!; porque es así + rollo de la wiki, sin admitir que has hecho copy-paste de la wiki o similares, pero omitiendo información descaradamente, ya que allí exponen también otras teorías en torno al tema. Que conste, que soy fan de la wiki y me parece muy bien, que la gente discuta sobre cocina, pero deja de hacerme gracia cuando la gente se pone agresiva, insulta o trata a los demás como si fueran una porquería, sólo porque no coinciden con sus opiniones. Desgraciadamente he leído a personajes que me parece que no tienen nada mejor que hacer, que ir a los blogs de gente que nunca se mete con nadie, a tocar las narices con la verdadera carbonara, salvadora del universo. A mí no me ha pasado nunca, supongo que porqué si mi blog fuera en un mapa, sería el punto “El Culo del Mundo de Villa Abajo”, pero ¿por qué? ¿A alguien le va la vida, cocinándola de una manera u otra? En todo caso, ¿por qué la gente no se limita a escribir, cocinar o recomendar la pasta a la carbonara que más les gusta o la que he comido toda la vida, vive y deja vivir en paz?
Yo os escribiré la versión que vi que cocinaba la tía de mi compañero, que es romana. Por lo tanto, diríamos que algo auténtica debe ser, porque la señora es muy mayor y se ha pasado la vida aquí. Admito que a veces la hago de otras maneras. Es más fácil encontrar pancetta decente, que no guanciale como Dios manda. Por tanto, a veces la preparo con pancetta ahumada y es también muy buena. Si por lo que fuera, no encontrarais ni pancetta, ni guanciale, hacedla con bacon ahumado. Os lo puedo perdonar, porque no soy romana. Igualmente con el queso. Si la hacéis con grana padano o parmesano, en lugar de pecorino, también es buena. Lo que sí, que no me gusta, porque hincha de mala manera, es la americana, con crema de leche. En este punto sí, que parece que todo italiano está de acuerdo. Nata, ni de broma. De todos modos. Experimentad, encontrad las proporciones que satisfagan mejor vuestros gustos. Un día hice la carbonara con espárragos verdes, en lugar de cerdo, salteados con aceite y un diente de ajo, y salió buenísima.

Hakone (箱根町 Hakone-machi) is a town in Ashigarashimo District in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As of June 2012, the town had an estimated population of 13,492 and a population density of 145 persons per km². The total area was 92.82 km². Hakone has been designated as a Geopark by UNESCO.
Hakone is located in the mountainous far west of the prefecture, on the eastern side of Hakone Pass. Most of the town is within the borders of the volcanically active Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, centered on Lake Ashi.
Hakone is best accessed from Odawara and Mishima, the terminus of the Odakyū Odawara Line, 70 minutes from Shinjuku, Tokyo. From Odawara, the Hakone Tozan Line continues into various resort towns in Hakone. Odakyu also runs the Romancecar limited express between Shinjuku and Hakone-Yumoto. From Gōra, the terminus of Hakone Tozan Line, the Hakone Tozan Cable Car funicular goes to Sōunzan. Ōwakudani can be reached by Hakone Ropeway from Sounzan and the lake, while the lake is crisscrossed by cartoonishly decorated "pirate" ships for tourists. There is also Hakone Komagatake Ropeway, which goes to the top of Mount Komagatake.

ITINERARY - SALKANTAY TREK TO MACHU PICCHU 5 DAYS - 4 NIGHTS
DAY 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Marcocasa - Soraypampa.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco from 5: 00 am to 5:30 am to go by bus to Mollepata. Begin a spectacular scenic drive through the Anta plains with beautiful and panoramic views of the majestic Salkantay and other mountains covered with snow, and the Valley of Apurimac River. After two and a half hours drive we stop in Mollepata to have breakfast for last minute supplies, leg-stretching or to use the bathrooms, before continuing to Marcocasa. There we will meet with our support staff. They will load the equipment on horses and mules. Around 9:30 a.m. we will star our trek toward Soraypampa (3900 meters above sea level) if we keep a regular pace we will take 4 hours approximately to reach to Soraypampa the first camp site where will have lunch after lunch in the afternoon we have an option to go up to Umantay lake (4200masl) which takes 3 hours hike back and forth from the camp to see the glacier lake of Umantay. But if we keep slow pace; we will have lunch at halfway between Soraypampa and Marco Casa maybe after 3 hours of hiking. And after that we hike two a half hours more to Soraypampa. Anyway our camp is going be at Soraypampa. Sleeping tents will be ready and we will have a warm delicious dinner in the evening.

DAY 2: Soraypampa - Salkantay Pass - Huayramachay – Chaullay
Today early in the morning we will wake you up with the coca tea. Around 6:00 we will have a nutritious breakfast around 7:00 am we will start the hardest day of the whole Salkantay trek; we will be walking up to the highest point of the trek. After 6 kilometers uphill through the magnificent scenery of Rocky Mountains and enjoying the view of Salkantay mount. We reach the top of the trek. We will appreciate spectacular views of the mountains and the imposing snowy peaks of the Salkantay (6264 meters above sea level) which is known as the second highest mountain of the Cusco region. After 2 hours downhill around 1:00 p.m. we will have our delicious Peruvian lunch, in the area called Huayracmachay. Then we continue our hike to Chaullay approximately 3 hours of downhill we will get to our camp in Chaullay = 2900 masl Where we will have the sleeping tents ready. Around 7: 00 pm we will have dinner to recover energy from the trek.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Overnight: Chaullay in the tents.
Maximum Altitude: 4650 masl.
Minimum Altitude: 2920 masl.

DAY 3: Chaullay - Collpapampa - La Playa - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes.
Around 6:00 am; we will start our trek to La Playa through the Santa Teresa valley. We will hike 6 hours approximately during the hike will see: water fall, orchids, coffee, banana, avocado plantations and we will taste the famous passion fruit or granadilla and also we will see a village call Colpapampa also call the “forest cloudy brow” where waterfalls, thermal hot springs, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora, and birds can be observed. If we are lucky, we will be able to see the famous bird called “the Cock of the Rocks”. After lunch at La playa, we will catch a local transportation to Hidroelectrica train station. Here we have two options if you are exhausted you may take a train to Aguas Calientes. Or you may walk from hidroelectrica to Aguas Calientes town about 3 hours along the train track. Once in Aguas Calientes town; we are going to the accommodation which is included in the tour then by 7:00 we will have dinner at the local restaurant. This is cover by the company.

Overnight: in Aguas Calientes at the hotel which included in the package.

DAY 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo -Cusco
Today early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel you will be able to choose between. Walk up to Machupicchu. Or take bus up to Machupicchu. Any way we will be the first ones into Machupicchu to enjoy the sunrise and you will have two a half hours guided tour. Then you will have the free time to explore Machupicchu by yourselves or if you desire, ascent toward the Huaynapicchu Mountain. Or climb to Machupicchu montaña. After Machupicchu you are going back to Aguas Calientes town to take a train to Ollantaytambo and from there by bus back to Cusco. The bus drops you off at your hotel in Cusco.
Meals: Breakfast.

Osterhase im Admira Stadion letzten Samstag besuchte der Osterhase das Spiel Admira gegen Red Bull Salzburg. vor dem Stadion verteilte er mit Hilfe vom Admira Maskottchen Wacki und Iris wimmer 400 rote Ostereier, die mit einer Nummer versehen waren. Kulturgemeinderat Hans Wimmer erklärte jedem, dass er sich das Ei bis zum Schluss des Spieles aufheben müsse, denn am Ende des Spieles werde eine Nummer durchgesagt und derjenige, der die Nummer und das noch ganze Ei habe, bekomme das Trikot vom Kapitän Richie Windbichler. Nicht ein einziges Ei wurde auf das Spielfeld geschossen. Bravo Admira Fans. In der Pause hoppelte der Osterhase aufs Spielfeld und verteilte gemeinsam mit dem Wacki, Iris und Kulturgemeinderat Hans Wimmer 250 Schokoosterhasen und 100 Schokoostereier an die Kinder.

Der FC Red Bull Salzburg hat die auf den Gewinn des Meistertitels folgende kurze Schwächephase überwunden. Drei Tage nach dem 6:0 im Cup gegen den WAC gewannen die Bullen am Samstag, 19. April 2014 bei der Admira mit 3:2 und holten damit erstmals seit 13. Mai 2006 wieder einen vollen Erfolg in der Südstadt.
Salzburgs Matchwinner in einer vor allem nach der Pause flotten Partie war Dreifach-Torschütze Jonatan Soriano (2., 56./Elfmeter, 90./Freistoß), für die Admira trafen Richard Windbichler (30.) und Wilfried Domoraud (82.).

Nach einem Freistoß von Andre Ramalho verschätzte sich Windbichler, rasierte den Ball mit dem Kopf und düpierte dadurch seinen Innenverteidigungs-Kollegen Markus Katzer. Der Ball sprang vor die Füße von Soriano, und der Spanier vollstreckte zum 1:0 für die Mozartstädter.
Danach verzeichnete der Meister deutlich mehr Ballbesitz, wurde jedoch nicht wirklich gefährlich. Auch von den Hausherren war mit Ausnahme eines Fehlschusses von Maximilian Sax nach einer schönen Kombination (13.) nicht viel zu sehen. In der 30. Minute aber gelang den Niederösterreichern der überraschende Ausgleich. Nach einem Eckball von Rene Schicker und einem Gestocher im Strafraum landete der Ball bei Windbichler, der aus kurzer Distanz auf 1:1 stellte.
Alan vergab in der 36. Minute die Chance auf die neuerliche Salzburger Führung, als er nach Vorlage von Kevin Kampl knapp das Ziel verfehlte. Auch der zur Pause eingewechselte Valentino Lazaro ließ in der 51. Minute einen Sitzer aus. Auf der Gegenseite schoss Thorsten Schick in der 52. Minute am kurzen Eck vorbei.
Vier Minuten später glückte der Elf von Roger Schmidt die neuerliche Führung. Ein abgefälschter Freistoß von Ulmer landete bei immer stärker werdendem Regen auf dem Arm von Windbichler, den dafür verhängten Elfmeter verwandelte Soriano sicher.
In der Folge entwickelte sich in offener Schlagabtausch, wobei die Salzburger die besseren Möglichkeiten hatten. Das Tor machte aber zunächst die Admira: Nach einem Eckball versenkte der eingetauschte Wilfried Domoraud den Ball mit einer spektakulären Direktabnahme zum 2:2 im Netz. Die Antwort folgte in der 90. Minute - Soriano schlenzte einen Freistoß von der Strafraumgrenze ins Kreuzeck und hält nun bei bereits 30 Liga-Saisontreffern.

Hoy acabo esta serie del parque de la naturaleza de Cabárceno. Y lo hago con una secuencia en tres fases de la bocaza de este bellezón. Se trata de un hipopótamo enano. Este es un macho, y como veis es tan guapo como yo. Tiene cara de simpático, eso si, cuando abre esa bocaza impone, vaya si impone.
Volveré a Cabárceno, y espero conseguir más fotos como las de esta serie que me han divertido mucho.
Ahora comienza el fin de semana y se abren nuevas oportunidades fotográficas. A saber que traeré el Lunes........

Historia de la Parroquia de San Francisco Galileo
ANTECEDENTES
La población de San Francisco Galileo o El Pueblito, fue en los primeros años después de la conquista, una de las “visitas” de la “Doctrina” del Templo y Convento de Querétaro. Se les llamaba “Doctrinas” a las funciones de Parroquia que ejercían los Frailes Franciscanos y “Visitas” a las poblaciones que atendían espiritualmente.
En 1720, el templo de San Sebastián fue declarado Parroquia de Querétaro y San Francisco Galileo pasó a ser Ayuda de Parroquia, siendo atendida por los religiosos Franciscanos. La primer Acta de Bautizo está fechada el día tres de diciembre de 1719.
SE CONSTITUYE LA PARROQUIA
Así permaneció San Francisco Galileo como ayuda de Parroquia hasta el seis de agosto de 1770, en que se constituyó como Parroquia y fue entregada por los religiosos al clero secular. El primer cura de la nueva Parroquia de San Francisco Galileo fue el Bachiller Manuel Cassela.
Al formarse como Parroquia, quedaron bajo su jurisdicción los mismo centros de población que comprendía la Ayuda de Parroquia: Casa Blanca, Jacal Grande, La Capilla, La Comunidad, San Juanico, Vengas, Estancia de las Vacas, Balvanera, El Molinito, La Cueva, Bravo, El Batán, San Francisco de Paula, Olveras, Tejeda, La Tenería, Batancito, El Picacho, La Cañada de la Plata, Cañada de Zapote, Peña Rajada, Charco de Lucas, Majada Verde y Tanques Cuates, así como La Norita y El Castillo pertenecientes al Estado de Guanajuato.
Humilpan, junto con sus haciendas, ranchos y comunidades de su jurisdicción, quedo integrada a la Parroquia de San Francisco Galileo como ayuda de la Parroquia.

1. I do not like if you create personalities by using "profiles", or lists like this one. So, if you are not able to handle profile-data as emergent - "emergent" used as the basic adjective in the theory of complexity - pieces of a (multiD) puzzle... please do not widen reading.
2. Sometimes I tend to be nocturnal. Sometimes my perception is nocturnal and always I feel this, I try to play piano. I love playing piano at night.
3. I love playing piano at all and listening, but also listening to nearly every type of music and nearly every genre... I love to hear and discover new sounds, but also to get happy or sad by the effect of old music. There is no piece I could tell my favorite one but I think I hear classical music most. But in this moment an electro song by "The Knife" called "Like a pen" is played.
4. If an ethical theory must be chosen by me... it would be the utilitarian one, but extended to include all sentient entities. But so many others include markable "points" to be integrated in this "meta-utilitarianism"... I love all sentience and pleasure and therefore all animals enabled for this and all others are at least interesting.
5. I was born in Rüppurr near Karlsruhe in Germany and after some weeks I had been adopted by the loveliest parents I could imagine. I learned so much and they cared about me so lovely. I never had sad thoughts about my adoption. I had parents and this is all a growing child needs, there is no need that they must be the biological ones. Furthermore it was interesting and is a part of my life. We lived in Karlsruhe and at the age of four we have moved to Nuremberg. I lived one of the most beautiful and loveliest childhoods I could imagine and by now I know even my biological parents and do visit them sometimes. I like them and there I have a fully biological sister at age of 10. She is so "alive" and I love to watch her and play with her...
6. I love to read. And often I read to much books parallel, so that one is progressing to slow... Currently I read "Urfaust" by Goethe, "Hohe Schule der Fotografie" by Feininger, "Philosophie des Sozialen" by Detel, "Chinese Calligraphy" by Tingyou and "Franz Kafka Lesebuch" (in this: Brief an den Vater). I rather do not start listing books I like.
7. Like there is no favorite book, song or even genre, there is no favorite color or number or discriminating stuff like this... but if one tells this undifferentiated, I only can reply that I am very happy with my love for all types of intentional and non-intentional qualia.
9. We scrumped a cat by feeding her and now she visits us every day... I love her and her name is "Garfield". And she is a he... but nobody cares.
10. I am really excited about my future, but happy about my past and at the most moments I am very very happy. And the matter for my excitement about future is the studies I planned to absolve. i finished school last may and start studying in half a month. I am so interested in physics and in philosophy that I cannot wait for the studies to begin. But privily I plan to study my whole life or at least as long as this is possible. Uhm well, I know first this sounds silly. Everything is linked to each other and everything is so interesting; and satisfying my desire for knowledge pleasures me so much that I see no sense in doing something different then being happy and interested only to earn money (?!). And the only thing I finally could spend my money for would be to get things, that satisfy me or pleasure me... and this is totally cyclic and nonsense, if it is possible directly. I believe there is no "sense of life", we only do exist. But this is not something sad. This is wonderful. We are able to feel and be happy, but also can get sad... we are able to sentient, feel and there must not be a sense... a "sense" is a human-made category and I do not think that it fulfills the life´s beauty and complexity if we oppress life this category and because this and point 7 I´m forced to think, what I tried to express in point 4.
I want to ad point 10,5: I believe every need, every quota or "must" is conditional. No one is absolute. We are not free as we are free... freedom is based in perspective and in each perspective this question cannot be answered in a black and white vocabulary.
10 points are not enough to reveal some truths about me without loosing structure or loosing me in endless text production... but I think short characterizations are discriminating reality, but perhaps long too... I know this is a dilemma, but exactly this shapes what "personality" is.

I took this picture a few days ago at the European Parliament in Brussels. I met Mathieu Grosch during an important debate between representatives of the Braives village (lead by Pol Guillaume, Mayor of Braives) and several Eurodeputies. The meeting was meant to improve the relationship between local entities in Belgium (especially Braives) and European institutions. This is actually something really new that might have huge repercussions for many little cities in Europe.

SPLENDOUR ON THE GREEN.
Last year on a Saturday evening we drove to Harrogate, a pleasant spa town to the south-east of the Yorkshire Dales, famous for its tea shops (like Betty’s), flower shows, Turkish baths, antique shops and gardens. A very 'oldy worldy' place with a particular atmosphere.
Once a year in this huge green, the rows of trees lining the paths explode in splendour, the cherry trees. They criss-cross the lovely grassy field.
The first time we came across them... we were too late.
The next year... some trees had been chopped because of disease, leaving huge gaps...
The next year we forgot...
The next year it was a dreadful Spring with late frost, the blossoms hardly came out, a merciless storm threw them to the ground...
The next year we kept hearing on the news that although the money had been raised and the young trees planted to restore this visual feast, some vandals came and cracked the saplings...
Last year we forgot again…
This year, WE MADE IT!!!
The sky had been a milky soft box the whole day, but I sensed a glimmer of 'more', as everyone went home, the 'sun' came out gently for a while.
It was wonderful, the tender full blossoms ever so gently swaying in the warm evening light, walking in wonderland, so beautiful… so fleeting.
The next day it was windy, across from our house; the neighbours have a Cherry tree… most of the petals now a pink carpet on the ground… grab it while it's there!
Just a few of the images I came home with, a flavour of the opulence with which I was surrounded, what a feast for all the senses.

Die Notom-Bullfrog-Road ist eine Straße im südlichen Utah, die parallel zum Waterpocket Fold verlaufend, die Utah State Route 24 mit der State Route 276 verbindet.
Die Notom-Bullfrog-Road verläuft in Nord-Süd-Richtung durch das Tal des Sandy Creek und des Halls Creek beziehungsweise des Bullfrog Creek parallel zum Waterpocket Fold und verbindet den Capitol-Reef-Nationalpark mit der Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Der im Wayne County gelegene nördliche Abschnitt, welcher etwa 15 Kilometer östlich des Besucherzentrums des Capitol-Reef-Nationalpark von der Utah State Route 24 abbiegt, ist befestigt, der mittlere, im Garfield County gelegene Teil ist unbefestigt. Die Straße verläuft durch das enger werdende Tal zwischen dem Waterpocket Fold und den Henry Mountains und überquert an der Bitter Creek Divide den Pass, welcher die Täler des zum Fremont River entwässernden Sandy Creek vom in Richtung des Colorado River fließenden Halls Creek trennt. Nachdem die Straße etwa 32 Kilometer nach Verlassen der State Route 24 die Grenze zum Capitol-Reef-Nationalpark überquert hat, geht bei Kilometer 55 der Burr Trail in Richtung Boulder nach Westen ab. Wenige Kilometer südlich verlässt die Straße das Tal und verläuft über die Thomson Mesa in Richtung des Bullfrog Canyon und des Lake Powell. Etwa acht Kilometer nördlich der Bullfrog Marina mündet die Notom-Bullfrog-Road auf die Utah State Route 276.
Die Bedeutung der Straße ergibt sich aus ihrem Verlauf entlang des Waterpocket Fold, so dass sich in ihrem Verlauf der Ausgangspunkt zahlreicher Wanderpfade, beispielsweise zu mehreren Slot Canyons befinden. Für den überregionalen Verkehr besitzt die Notom-Bullfrog-Road schon aufgrund ihrer Unpassierbarkeit nach Regen- und Schneefällen keine Bedeutung.

Está situada sobre el antiguo convento de dominicos de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, más conocido como el de Nuestra Señora de Atocha, debido a que en su interior se veneraba dicha advocación de la Virgen.
El convento fue fundado en 1523 por Fray García de Loaysa (inquisidor general) y Fray Juan Hurtado de Mendoza (confesor de Carlos V) en virtud de un breve de Adrián VI. Se instaló sobre una antigua ermita donde ya se daba culto a la Virgen de Atocha.
En 1836, con la desamortización de Mendizábal, el edificio pasó a ser propiedad del Patrimonio Real, siendo destinado el convento a Cuartel de Inválidos y su iglesia, a parroquia castrense. La iglesia, que durante un tiempo albergó también a la parroquia de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, fue transformada en Basílica en 1863 por el Papa Pío IX. En 1924, Alfonso XIII cedió la propiedad de nuevo a la orden de los Dominicos, y actualmente siguen regentándola junto con un colegio.
En cuanto al edificio, a lo largo de su historia ha sufrido numerosos derribos y sucesivas construcciones, por lo que en la actualidad nada queda del primitivo templo. El 14 de agosto de 1652 se quemó la iglesia; en 1726 se desplomó la capilla mayor, y en 1809 los franceses destinaron el edificio a cuartel y quedó arruinado tras la guerra de la independencia, por lo que en época de Fernando VII fue reedificado casi por completo.
A finales del siglo XIX, la Basílica volvía a estar muy deteriorada, por lo que en 1890 se convocó un concurso público para su reconstrucción. El proyecto ganador fue realizado por el arquitecto Fernando Arbós y Tremanti, con una propuesta de basílica neobizantina con campanile exento y Panteón de Hombres Ilustres.
Las obras comenzaron en 1891, pero diez años después y debido a la falta de recursos económicos se suspendió la construcción, continuando paralizada hasta que en 1924 el conjunto fue cedido a los dominicos, quienes prosiguieron las obras sin seguir el proyecto original de Arbós.
En 1936, durante la guerra civil, el edificio fue nuevamente arrasado y no fue hasta 1946 cuando la Dirección General de Regiones Devastadas llevó a cabo su reconstrucción, resultando cinco años después un edificio de trazas neobarrocas.

I ended up at a bridge called "Aggersund Bridge" where I had the most amazing sunrise. this is a photo made in the opposite direction of the sun, and af few minutes before it came up over the horizon.
