Spiderman comic released earlier this week.

Marvel Comics released a special issue of Amazing Spider-Man #583 with Obama depicted on the cover. Inside are five pages of Obama and Spidey teaming up and even fist-bumping.

Clearly we are witnessing a significant cultural shift happening alongside the political and ideological shifts occurring alongside today's presidential inauguration. When the media from FOX news, NPR, NBC, New York Times to widespread public expression through commercial means (t-shirts, posters, shot glasses, and comics) are all in harmony praising the changing of power in Washington, there is something truly unique taking place. When was the last time a President Elect generated this kind of excitement? The only Bush-Cheney t-shirts I recall were parodies and critiques.

I have a greatly improved state of mind today regarding the future of our country and our world. I have been disappointed, sad, angry, shocked, and dismayed repeatedly over the course of the last eight years. I know there will be very tough, contentious times ahead that will divide people into factions. However, I believe Obama's fundamental approach working to unite people of various beliefs will go a long way toward improving the dysfunctional government we've sadly come to expect. A new day has dawned for America and the world. Let us all hold forgiveness and cooperation in our hearts. Hatred should have no place in the soul of true Americans committed to democracy, freedom, prosperity and peace.

UPS Airlines is a worldwide cargo airline owned by United Parcel Service Inc. The company is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Its home airport is located at Louisville International Airport.

UPS Airlines flies to more than 200 countries.

UPS Airlines has a fleet size of 266 aircraft, making it the 9th largest airline in the world.

UPS Airlines had ordered ten Airbus A380 freighters and had options on ten more. As part of the deal the airline was reducing an existing commitment for ninety Airbus A300 freighters to fifty three. But, in March 2007, UPS canceled their A380F orders. UPS has yet to announce a replacement order in place of the A380Fs. It has been rumored that UPS will order Boeing's 777F. UPS has also ordered eight Boeing 747-400 freighters to increase capacity on its major "trunk" routes to Europe, Asia, and North America. These are expected to be delivered in June 2007 and go on through 2008. UPS Airlines placed a firm order for 27 additional Boeing 767-300 Freighters in February 2007 to be delivered 2009 to 2012. Most UPS Airlines flights go through the UPS Worldport at Louisville International Airport.

The Boeing 767 is a mid-size, wide-body twinjet airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Passenger versions of the 767 can carry between 181 and 375 passengers, and have a range of 5,200 to 6,590 nautical miles depending on variant and seating configuration. The Boeing 767 entered into airline service in 1982. There have been 1,039 767s ordered with 970 delivered as of January 2009. There were 862 767s in service with 48 different airlines as of December 2008.

Trade Show Booth Case Study

Vermeer Updates and Unifies Its Look

After updating the logos and decals on its industrial and agricultural equipment, Vermeer needed to update its trade show booth.

Marketing Communications Manager Tony Briggs chose Skyline from among five exhibit companies, seeking to gain four improvements in a new 50'-by-50' exhibit:

1. Reduced shipping and drayage - weighs less and fewer crates

2. Modular design - can be reconfigured for various booth sizes

3. Eye-catching graphics - large photo collages on a 16-foot tower

4. Ease of assembly - lightweight components

Skyline also provided training for 65 Vermeer staffers before the opening of the show. "Having an industry expert talk to our people on the do's and don'ts, how to qualify leads, and the importance of open-ended questions, had a distinct impact," Briggs says.

National Account Program

Vermeer launched a national account program that allows its dealers to order Vermeer-approved exhibits and graphics online through Skyline. Dealers can rent or purchase exhibits and choose from a library of graphics that can be customized with the dealer's logo.

Located on newly-fashionable West Avenue, Mondrian South Beach is a quiet enclave just minutes from the bustling center of South Beach, offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami. The visionary style of designer Marcel Wanders is apparent from the moment you pull into the porte-cochere: guests walk through a grand entryway appointed with custom-designed furniture, lighting and accent pieces, evoking Wanders’ design homage of “Sleeping Beauty’s Castle”. The gardens at Mondrian South Beach, designed as indoor/outdoor living spaces, feature comfortable seating areas, an outdoor "sand" bar, a hanging chandelier above the glamorous pool, and cabanas for all ages, including tented play spaces with a sandbox and bouncy toys in the children’s area. Upon entering the soaring lobby at Mondrian South Beach , the floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of Biscayne Bay. Immediately the eye is dra wn to the masterpiece of the room–an iconic, signature “floating staircase.” Black and gold patterned furnishings and oversized brass bell shaped lights add a touch of whimsy to Mondrian South Beach and welcome guests to sit and socialize or enjoy the view.

The temple is made mostly of stone carved as they did in the Middle Ages. The huge windows were executed by Jaques and Gerard Degusseau of Orleans, France in cartons artist and painter Maurice Rocher de Paris.

The temple doors are made of blackwood, made by Jesus Gomez Velazco and bronze figures embedded in these were made by Benito Castaneda, the three ears of the front of the church are made of Italian mosaic tile factory in the Vatican and represent the of the nave: the Paschal Lamb, the east transept of St. Tarcisius and the other at St. Pius X, they were designed by the artist and expert of the Vatican Museums Bencivenga Francisco who also oversaw the placement of thereof.

The church clock was imported from Germany, has four faces illuminated with a chime of 25 bells that play 25 pieces both religious and popular music, some of these are: Ave Maria, National Anthem, Resume, Guadalajara, Adios Mariquita Linda, Las Golondrinas, Mexico Lindo y Querido, the March of Zacatecas, etc.. This chime can also be played from a keyboard in the choir. The clock cost was 450 pesos or so, and was installed by German technicians. At the sound of a musical piece accompanying the pilgrimage of the figures of the twelve apostles originally set at 9 am, 12 pm and 6 pm.

I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen!

These hot pink late tulips are my absolute favourites, they have pointed petals which makes them look like stars... and that is it, they have star-quality!!!

They are begging to be photographed, and make it easy, their beauty so prominent, yes, we had fun together!

Taken for AAW: Explore-ability

As well as the things mentioned in the assignment post, I figured explore-ability sometimes has to do with what fits the season. Now, normally I eschew the sickly-sweet valentines sentimentality, but 'tis the season. What I first envisioned with a letter-in-envelope required me to have much cuter stationary on hand, so I decided to step back to before the letter was written. In the end, I decided I wanted something blank, almost a template that could be used for, say, a PostSecret, though I went with square instead of postcard-shaped because I thought it'd make a nicer thumbnail.

Processing: I massaged this a bunch to get rid of dust spots, hide the unsightly part of the XOXO pick (which came on a cupcake), and then to make the paper just look nicer and more romantic. I'd originally wanted it to be pure white against the xoxo, but the cool colour didn't work for me so I pink-balanced it rather than white-balancing it.

Bath is a city in the ceremonial county of Somerset in the south west of England. It is situated 97 miles (156 km) west of London and 13 miles (21 km) south-east of Bristol. The population of the city is 83,992. It was granted city status by Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth I in 1590, and was made a county borough in 1889 which gave it administrative independence from its county, Somerset. The city became part of Avon when that county was created in 1974. Since 1996, when Avon was abolished, Bath has been the principal centre of the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES).

The city was first established as a spa with the Latin name, Aquae Sulis ("the waters of Sulis") by the Romans in AD 43, although verbal tradition suggests that Bath was known before then. They built baths and a temple on the surrounding hills of Bath in the valley of the River Avon around hot springs. Edgar was crowned king of England at Bath Abbey in 973. Much later, it became popular as a spa town during the Georgian era, which led to a major expansion that left a heritage of exemplary Georgian architecture crafted from Bath Stone.

The City of Bath was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1987. The city has a variety of theatres, museums, and other cultural and sporting venues, which have helped to make it a major centre for tourism, with over one million staying visitors and 3.8 million day visitors to the city each year. The city has two universities and several schools and colleges. There is a large service sector, and growing information and communication technologies and creative industries, providing employment for the population of Bath and the surrounding area.
