“It’s easy to see email as unwelcome obligation, but too rarely do we take that obligation to its logical if obvious conclusion: those obligations are increasingly akin to another job—or better, many other jobs. For those of us lucky enough to be employed, we’re really hyperemployed—committed to our usual jobs and many other jobs as well. It goes without saying that we’re not being paid for all these jobs, but pay is almost beside the point, because the real cost of hyperemployment is time. We are doing all those things others aren’t doing instead of all the things we are competent at doing. And if we fail to do them, whether through active resistance or simple overwhelm, we alone suffer for it: the schedules don’t get made, the paperwork doesn’t get mailed, the proposals don’t get printed, and on and on.

But the deluge doesn’t stop with email, and hyperemployment extends even to the unemployed, thanks to our tacit agreement to work for so many Silicon Valley technology companies.” ―Ian Bogost

“Email is the plumbing of hyperemployment. Not only do automated systems notify and direct us via email but we direct and regulate one another through email. But even beyond its function as infrastructure, email also has a disciplinary function. The content of email almost doesn’t matter. Its primary function is to reproduce itself in enough volume to create anxiety and confusion. The constant flow of new email produces an endless supply of potential work. Even figuring out whether there is really any “actionable” effort in the endless stream of emails requires viewing, sorting, parsing, even before one can begin conducting the effort needed to act and respond.” ―Ian Bogost

“The only difference between the despair of hyperemployment and that of underemployment is that the latter at least acknowledges itself as a substandard condition, whereas the former celebrates the hyperemployed’s purported freedom to “share” and “connect,” to do business more easily and effectively by doing jobs once left for others’ competence and compensation, from the convenience of your car or toilet.” ―Ian Bogost

Ảnh ở cỡ to nhất

Cross view this photo to see the 3D.

Mercado Municipal y Polideportivo Barceló y Biblioteca Pública Municipal Mario Vargas Llosa

Calle Barceló 4-6, c/v a Mejía Lequerica 9 y a Beneficencia 7-9 Madrid,

Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos: Fuensanta Nieto y Enrique Sobejano. Proyecto Concurso: 2007. Arquitecto de proyecto: Alfredo Baladrón, Alexandra Sobral. Coordinación de proyecto: Patricia Grande. 2008

Boobies On Black

For years and years I've wanted to participate in the Boobie-Thon, but I was always to late.

I submitted another to Blogger Bobbie-Thon, totally exposing the boobies, but I decided in the best interest of my brother should he run across this that I would put the more censored one on Flickr. Ha!

My lovely Mom is a Breast Cancer Survivor. She was diagnosed 8 years ago, and it was caught very early on. She had a mastectomy, and re-constructive surgery afterward. It was a pretty long, tedious process from start to finish. I don't remember her acting sad, or scared. She was amazingly strong and graceful throughout the process. I get kinda emotional when I think about what she went through, and I'm so grateful that she conquered it!

I also lost an Aunt to Breast Cancer.

Getting Breast Cancer is one of my two major fears. I actually need to call and schedule my first mammogram since my insurance approved it a few weeks ago. God forbid if I ever did get it, I hope I will be able to handle it the way my Mama did.

My boobies aren't perfect, and I'm not particularly found of how non-perky they are after having my kids, but they are mine...and they did their job. I hope I get to keep them for the rest of my life. That's why I don't understand woman who get breast implants. What if one day you did get breast cancer, and you had to have a mastectomy or a double mastectomy. You would wish you had your perfectly, imperfect boobies back.

Oh, and tonight was the first time in my whole life that I realized that my right boob is bigger than the left. I always thought they were pretty symmetrical. Weird considering I see them every day.

She was a beauty--a gold 45 goddess for sure! A Gold 45 Goddess exalts the archetypal form of Athena--the Greek Goddess of wisdom, warfare, strategy, heroic endeavour, handicrafts and reason. A Gold 45 Goddess guards the beauty of dx4/dt=ic and embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic journey into art and mythology. It is Athena who descends to call Telemachus to Adventure in the first book of Homer's Odyssey--to man up, find news of his true father Odysseus, and rid his home of the false suitors, and too, it is Athena who descends in the first book of Homer's Iliad, to calm the Rage of Achilles who is about to draw his sword so as to slay his commander who just seized Achilles' prize, thusly robbing Achilles of his Honor--the higher prize Achilles fought for. And now Athena descends once again, assuming the form of a Gold 45 Goddess, to inspire you along your epic journey of heroic endeavour.

An important thing to remember is that even though pixel sizes keep getting smaller and smaller, the technology is advancing, so the smaller pixels are more efficient at collecting light. For instance, the Sony A7rII is back-illuminated which allows more photons to hit the sensor. Semiconductor technology is always advancing, so the brilliant engineers are always improving the signal/noise ratio. Far higher pixel counts, as well as better dynamic ranger, are thus not only possible, but the future!

View your artistic mission into photography as an epic odyssey of heroic poetry! Take it from Homer in Homer's Odyssey: "Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who travelled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted; moreover he suffered much by sea while trying to save his own life and bring his men safely home; but do what he might he could not save his men, for they perished through their own sheer folly in eating the cattle of the Sun-god Hyperion; so the god prevented them from ever reaching home. Tell me, too, about all these things, O daughter of Jove, from whatsoever source you may know them. " --Samuel Butler Translation of Homer's Odyssey

On the left is a true color image of Titan. The moon's north polar hood is visible in this view. The image on the right is a representation of what it would look like if you could see past Titan's atmosphere and down to its surface. The darker areas are vast hydrocarbon sand dunes and seas. Titan's largest sea, Kraken Mare, is visible here.

Both images were taken by Cassini's camera system, the Imaging Science Subsystem on June 26, 2013, as it was looking for clouds across Titan’s northern trailing hemisphere.

These images were taken on June 26, 2013 and received on Earth June 27, 2013. The camera was pointing toward TITAN at approximately 866,157 miles (1,393,945 kilometers) away, and the images were taken using the RED, GRN, BL1, CB3, CL1 and CL2 filters.

The grove snail or brown-lipped snail (Cepaea nemoralis) is a species of air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk. It is one of the most common species of land snail in Europe. It is a relatively small snail, growing to a height of about 20 mm and a width of 25 mm. The semi-glossy shell has from 4½ to 5½ whorls.

C. nemoralis is closely related to the white-lipped snail, Cepaea hortensis, and shares much the same habitat. The grove snail is usually the larger of the two species when mature, but the principal difference is that the grove snail has a dark brown lip to its shell, whilst Cepaea hortensis has a white lip. However, this distinguishing feature is not entirely reliable, as there is at least one morph of the grove snail which also has a white lip.

When the identity of an adult individual is questionable, and it is necessary to distinguish the two species, a dissection can be used in order to examine the anatomy: the structure of the love dart is quite different in the two species, as are the the vaginal mucus glands.

Originally composed in 932 AH / 1525 CE and dedicated to Sultan Süleyman I ("The Magnificent"), this great work by Piri Reis (d. 962 AH / 1555 CE) on navigation was later revised and expanded. The present manuscript, made mostly in the late 11th AH / 17th CE century, is based on the later expanded version with some 240 exquisitely executed maps and portolan charts. They include a world map (fol.41a) with the outline of the Americas, as well as coastlines (bays, capes, peninsulas), islands, mountains and cities of the Mediterranean basin and the Black Sea. The work starts with the description of the coastline of Anatolia and the islands of the Aegean Sea, the Peloponnese peninsula and eastern and western coasts of the Adriatic Sea. It then proceeds to describe the western shores of Italy, southern France, Spain, North Africa, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, western Anatolia, various islands north of Crete, Sea of Marmara, Bosporus and the Black Sea. It ends with a map of the shores of the the Caspian Sea (fol.374a).
