Just a little tabelscrap I made during my SARS-CoV-2 build which proved to be ludicrously out of scale for that MOC. While too big for the main MOC, it's also too small to show any real detail but I've coloured the spike protein by protomer (red, green and yellow) to give a better idea of what it means for it to have a trimeric structure. Inspired by a much more detailed cryo-EM structure.
The human ACE2 receptor is coloured blue and is mainly present to give a simplistic overview of how the spike protein receptor interaction works, although this generally ignores all the conformational changes involved. The general shape is based on another recently reported cryo-EM structure with ACE2 as a chaperone in complex with B0AT1; an amino acid transporter. I believe this is only physiologically relevant in the kidneys and intestines and scientists are still unsure what effect the association has on coronavirus cell entry in those tissues.

It was designated as the capital of the province of Ontario in 1867 during Canadian Confederation. The city proper has since expanded past its original borders through both annexation and amalgamation to its current area of 630.2 km2 (243.3 sq mi).
The diverse population of Toronto reflects its current and historical role as an important destination for immigrants to Canada. More than 50 percent of residents belong to a visible minority population group, and over 200 distinct ethnic origins are represented among its inhabitants. While the majority of Torontonians speak English as their primary language, over 160 languages are spoken in the city.
Toronto is a prominent centre for music, theatre, motion picture production, and television production, and is home to the headquarters of Canada's major national broadcast networks and media outlets. Its varied cultural institutions, which include numerous museums and galleries, festivals and public events, entertainment districts, national historic sites, and sports activities, attract over 43 million tourists each year. Toronto is known for its many skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, in particular the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, the CN Tower.

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM; French: Musée royal de l'Ontario) is a museum of art, world culture and natural history in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Some information about singapore
Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a Southeast Asian city-state off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, 137 kilometres (85 mi) north of the equator. Singapore united with other former British territories to form Malaysia in 1963 and became a fully independent state two years later after separation from Malaysia. Since then it has had a massive increase in wealth, and is one of the Four Asian Tigers. The economy depends heavily on the industry and service sectors. Singapore is a world leader in several areas: It is the world's fourth-leading financial centre, the world's second-biggest casino gambling market, and the world's third-largest oil refining centre. The port of Singapore is one of the five busiest ports in the world, most notable for being the busiest transshipment port in the world. The country is home to more US dollar millionaire households per capita than any other country. The World Bank notes Singapore as the easiest place in the world to do business. The country has the world's third highest GDP PPP per capita of US$59,936, making Singapore one of the world's wealthiest countries.

Hi all!
Usually during these December weeks, I try to find a Xmas tree so that I can take some photos/videos in one my season appropriate dresses. 🎄
But these last few weeks of school have been a bit more hectic.. and I'm visiting my family tomorrow, so yeah: that Xmas dress + tree photo will have to wait. 😛
So, here's a photo of me in my red leather skirt with red heels. Still festive enough for the seasons, right? 😉

A lot of people have asked what comes next.
The answer? We don't know any better than you do.
I know that I met this amazing, funny, sweet person, and I'm completely wild over her. That I've had her in every minute of my life for the last week, and that every minute felt right. And that tomorrow everything changes.
After that?
I really can't say. I wish I knew. Really, we're taking it minute by minute and sometimes it feels like we're spinning out of control.
We say our strange goodbyes and go back to phonecalls and webcams - the technologies that once seemed fresh and exciting are a step backward; a step apart. It's going to be hard. I know that much.
I'm hoping a California trip is in the cards.
But I can only see as far as Monday. School begins. Xelia will be gone. We're left with memories and marks; a cold spot in the bed where someone is missing.
