What I love about these little guys is that they'll stay still longer than most so that I can get good photos!!!!
A small hover tank, popular among mercenaries, with a very versatile design. Its fast pulse lifts and light armor make it highly maneuverable, and its communications array has a range of over 20 miles.
The Ithaca College London House has a lawn mower that is quite different than ones we are used to in the States. It has no wheels and sort of hovers slightly above the ground while mowing.
There was a pair of robberflies, one following and hovering over the other, about a foot away from it. My guess is that this was a male hovering over a female as part of some kind of courtship.

I "accidentally" bought a Panasonic FZ28 last week and I'm already in love. Caught this little guy in my garden while trying out the macro settings.

The Restless Flycatcher here is hovering over the ground like a Hawk or Falcon, they do this with the head and tail pointing down as they look for insects to eat, usually they eat insects on leaves but this one was looking to the ground for food.
Low stormy weather clouds lingering and hovering over a lake with city lights in the distance along the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Blue sky underneath and stars shining just after the sun was setting and dusk was approaching. Scenic landscape view looking northwest toward Loveland.

OLYMPUS XZ-1 / Flying ( Hovering ) Dragonfly
(2013.8.5 Postscript )
It is difficult to photo the insect which is flying in compact digital camera.
Movement is too early and cannot catch the dragonfly in the Auto Focus by compact digital camera.
I observed a dragonfly and noticed the following things.
The dragonfly has a habit to stop to the same branch repeatedly.
Therefore focused the dragonfly which stopped to a branch in a Manual Focus and waited for a dragonfly to fly away.
After having flown away, I pressed the shutter at the moment when the dragonfly returned to the same branch.
(Since I am poor at English, a comment is described using translation software in many cases.
There may be a strange part in description.
Please forgive. :-) )
