I expect much better results next time.

These are mods of Artasid's Hover Frames.

For these frames, I haven't altered the core design much, just trying different arms and legs, and experimenting with an out-there color scheme on the magenta one.

Hoverfly on Quince flower, shame it's not in focus but liked the perspective anyway

Canon EOS 7D Mark II

Work in progress on my new project. It’s a kind of sci-fi hover tank / dropship / higgins boat with a hatch at the front that opens to disgorge infantry directly into battle.

It’s going to be the centre of a diorama, so the technic you can see descending from the ramp will be rooted into the ground making it look like its hovering.

Anyone got any comments or input?

Ruby Throated Hummingbird. I believe it's a juvie, but not sure if it's a male or female.

A delicate hover fly that is so well camouflaged in this bog iris yet I felt it made an interesting subject on this breezy day when macro was a test.

Congratulate me for my first bird shot.

First time building imperial vehicles! Did you know in-universe, they were supposed to have tracks and not hover?

This board started to hover, and dragged the surfer along the surf breaks.

this hover fly was on some Lucifer reeds by my pond, I was looking down on him, gently breeze and hence the sunglight caught him. Didnt think anything of it until I uploaded the photo.

Spent a bit of time in the back garden with the Macro setup.

All taken handheld.

Gets better larger.

I thought this was a bee - it seemed to fly like a bee, not hover and dart.

BUT see Max xx 's expert comments below.

AND I am totally persuaded since looking at the variety of hoverflies on:

It was a day full of jewel tones and lovely light. I sat in a lawn chair and waited to see what would happen.

This little lady came to visit! She hovered just in front of me to look me over, and then moved off to feed.

Ahhh!

Northern Harriers seem to have an uncanny ability to hunt just beyond acceptable focal range. This a very large crop of a female focusing on potential prey. Circus cyaneus; San Luis NWR

No change to the core here: I've just added huge arms and legs to make a heavy construction frame.
