The first series delta was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and released in 1979 and introduced in Britain in 1980 they remained almost unchanged until 1986 with small changes to the body shape and engines were uprated. most Delta models were ordinary small family cars but like the Subaru Imprezza have remained more famous for the performance and rally cars
The Integrale was introduced in 1987 and for the first eight months was known simply as the HF 4WD with a 165bhp turbo charged engine. But it became the Integrale wearing flared arches and winning International rallies. Yet it had five doors and remained a practical family hatchback. In 1989 the power was increased to from 185bhp to 200bhp with a 16 valve head finally reaching 210bhp
At the September 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show Lancia introduced an heavily revised Delta HF,[once again named Delta HF integrale—but which became better known as HF integrale "Evoluzione" or simply HF integrale "Evo". . Evoluzione cars were built from October 1991 through 1992. At the end of the victorious 1991 World Rally Championship season, where the HF integrale 16v had won both the drivers' and manufacturers' championship, Lancia officially retired from rallying. The Evoluzione's engine was the same turbocharged 16-valve 2-litre used on the previous model, but power had increased to 210 PS. Mechanical changes included a strengthened steering rack and a power steering oil radiator, reworked and strengthened suspension The braking system featured larger diameter discs and vacuum servo, and fixed two-piston Brembo calipers at the front. No changes were made to the four-wheel-drive system. The wheel arch bulges were consequently extended and made more rounded the bodywork included a new bonnet, front and rear bumpers, box section side skirts, rear doors, and a rear spoiler. The front end was distinguished by twin, smaller diameter round headlamps he bonnet had a wider and taller hump, and new lateral air slats to further assist underbonnet ventilation. The roof spoiler above the tailgate was manually adjustable in three positions. he bonnet had a wider and taller hump, and new lateral air slats to further assist underbonnet ventilation. This car was offered for auction sale at the show by Coys selling for £ 30,105

The Toyota GR Yaris is a sport compact car manufactured since 2020 by Toyota with assistance from the company's Gazoo Racing (GR) division. It is a three-door hatchback which was designed to meet World Rally Championship (WRC) homologation rules. The GR Yaris is available with four-wheel drive alongside other significant modifications which differentiate it from the five-door XP210-series Yaris, with the rear of the car being based upon the larger E210-series Corolla.
Designed by Shota Ito, Takeo Okuno and Cho Byung-kan, The Gazoo Racing WRT team, led by team principal and 4-time WRC champion Tommi Mäkinen, was heavily involved in the design. The challenge was to build a car that was capable of being equipped to race at WRC events, but also suitable for daily driving. It was felt that unlike the standard Yaris the car needed to be three door, have four-wheel drive, a wider rear track and a double wishbone suspension layout to handle significantly increased torque. The design changes required that the GR Yaris be built on a combination between the front end of the standard Yaris' with the rear of the GA-C platform used by the Corolla, To save weight, the GR Yaris also uses aluminium for the front bonnet, boot lid and door panels. It also uses carbon fibre-reinforced plastic for its roof panel which was formed using the sheet moulding compound method
The production car is powered by a Gazoo Racing-built, turbocharged and direct/port-injected 1.6-litre G16E-GTS three-cylinder engine that produces 257 to 268 hp (261-272 PS) varying due to emissions regulations in certain markets. The engine is mated to a 6-speed V16-series intelligent manual transmission, and GR-Four permanent four-wheel drive system. It has a claimed 0-62 mph (0-100kmph) acceleration time of 5.2 to 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 143mph

There are some cars I never see at American classic car shows, despite their increasing vintage and scarcity. Chrysler K-cars, Ford Pintos and Tempos, and Chevrolet Chevettes are examples that come to mind. They were models that never quickened the car enthusiast’s pulse and unlike other makes that were once reviled in popular opinion (Edsels most notably), these cars remain impervious to nostalgia. The Dodge Omni of the late 1970s/1980s is another of the seemingly Unforgiven.
This sighting at a Lakeland FL car show broke that Omni Duck (to use cricketing terminology), but it was not a regular production model but a limited edition Shelby GLH-S of 1986. It incorporated a 2.2 litre intercooler turbo engine plus a sporting suspension. Branded as a Shelby, it is said that GLH-S stood for “Goes Like Hell S’more”. Production was limited to 500 examples.

So yesterday my little Clio turned 1! Have put 5,000 miles on it now and am still impressed with the car greatly! I know lots of people didn't like that it was auto only and said that the auto box wasn't up to standards, but for the majority of my driving, which is in the city, I can't really fault the gearbox, other than when it likes to hang onto 1st and 2nd into the higher rpm range, but what do you expect from a hot hatch? Aim to keep this car another year, then onto bigger and better things!

The Rover 200 BRM was a developement of the R3 series Rover 200. The car was first shown at the 1997 Frankfurt Motorshow and following a good reception from press and public alike that after a year of development the Rover 200 BRM LE was officially launched at the British Motor Show in October 1998. It was based on the on the range-topping Vi model but with 1960's BRM styling cues. The engine was the familiar 145 PS (107 kW) 1.8-litre VVC K-Series. nside, there were red quilted leather seats and door panels, red carpet, seat belts and steering wheel. Alloy heater controls and turned aluminium trim. The exteriors were Brooklands Green, nside, there were red quilted leather seats and door panels, red carpet, seat belts and steering wheel. Alloy heater controls and turned aluminium trim.
The ride height was lowered 20mm over the Vi and improved damping and handling, a close-ratio gearbox with a TorSen differential further developed from the Rover 220 Turbo, reduced torque steer and improved straight-line stability.
Initially priced in 1998 at £ 18000 excluding extras such as air conditioning, passenger air bags and CD player. The steep price was originally slashed to £16,000 and when the Rover 25 was launched, this was cut to £14,000 to get rid of vehicles still lingering in showrooms. Of the 1145 built 350 were allocated to overseas markets leaving just 795 for the UK marketplace.

Originally launched as the Hillman Avenger by the Rootes Group in 1970, as a rear wheel drive, small family car, with the advertising tag - The Myth Exploder, and available as a Saloon or Estate car with 1248cc or 1498cc S4 OHV engines.
Rootes production of the Avenger spanned 1970-76 before the Coventry based operation was taken over by Chrysler of Europe, who continued with production at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry between 1976-79. Unlike any previous Rootes design, there were no "badge-engineered" Humber or Singer versions in the UK market.
From 1976 under Chrysler stewardship the model was rebadged and had a comprehensive face lift, including new frontal treatment, a new dashboard. The greatest changes were at the rear where distinctive light cluster was replaced and the fuel filler cap moved from the rear to the right hand side. During this period the "Avenger" was exported to the USA as the Plymouth Cricket.,
Following the departure of Chrysler the Avenger continued in production under new owners Talbot between 1979-81 under the Talbot brand with the Avenger remaining in production alongside the hatchback-only Horizon to meet the demand which remained for traditional saloons and estates in this sector Unlike newer Talbot models such as the Horizon, the Avenger and Sunbeam retained the Chrysler "Pentastar" badge, instead of the Talbot logo featuring a letter "T" inside a circle. Production continued until the middle of 1981, when PSA closed the Linwood production plant and concentrated all British production at the Ryton plant
Even then the car continued to be produced in Argentina as the Dodge 1500 between 1971-88
Chrysler retained ownership of the "Avenger" trademark, subsequently used on the Dodge Avenger 2007–2014.

The PTS 125 Kit was sold in the Peugeot Talbot network from the end of 1984 to the end of 1986. It was sold at a price of 11 808 F, to be added to the 72 500 F of a new 205 GTI. It was developed by the tuner Danielson, who only intervened at the level of the cylinder head. The valve diameter was increased, the camshaft was reworked and the exhaust and intake ducts were optimised. The head gasket has been refined to increase the compression ratio. As a result, the XU5J’s power output has been increased from 105 to 125 bhp and the maximum rpm from 6600 to 6900. This kit could be assembled on a new 205 or on a car already in circulation. This assembly also required a complementary approval by the Mines with a riveted plate in the engine compartment and the modification of the type on the registration card (741C66 MO for modified). A distinction was made if the kit was mounted on a new car or a car already in circulation. In the case of new cars, the plate indicated «additional approval», whereas in the case of cars already in circulation, the plate indicated «prototype approval». The presence of this plate and the modified type on the vehicle registration document therefore formally identify a genuine 205 GTI Kit PTS. According to the former Danielson boss, the contract for the PTS kit was for the production of 1800 cylinder heads.
The example we present is a 205 GTI 1.6 put on the road on 18 January 1985. As the PTS plate indicates, the kit was ordered when the car was purchased by its first owner. This car is now in very good condition, the body is very sound and the bodywork has been repainted in 2018 in its original onyx black colour. The interior is still in its original state, only the driver’s seat has been completely restored in August. Mechanically, many parts have been replaced, so this car works perfectly. At the wheel we could appreciate the pleasure of the PTS kit which brings more response at high revs. Its exacerbated temperament and its rarity make it certainly the most exotic of the 205 GTI 1.6.

British Leyland introduced the Austin Metro (ADO 88) in 1980, originally intended to be the replacement for the Mini though a realisation at BL that the Supermini class was evolving into larger cars (than the Mini), forced a rethink and the Mini lived on. In late 1977, ADO88 project was given an eleventh hour redesign, to make it both larger and less utilitarian in appearance, whilst the Mini itself would now remain in production in smaller numbers alongside it as a budget entry-level model. The hatchback body shell was one of the most spacious of its time and this was a significant factor in its popularity. Initially, the Metro was sold as a three-door hatchback only (as were most of its competitors), with a choice of 998cc (1.0 litre) or 1275cc (1.3-litre) petrol engines. The Metro quickly proved popular with buyers, and during the early part of its production life it was the best selling mini-car in the UK, before being eclipsed by the updated Ford Fiesta in 1984. Its clever interior design made it spacious considering its dimensions, and Hydragas suspension gave surprisingly good ride and handling. Its updated A+ series 1.0 and 1.3-litre OHV engines hardly represented the cutting edge in performance, but they were strong on economy.
The Metro range was expanded in 1982 with the addition of the luxury Vanden Plas and higher performance MG versions. The Vanden Plas featured higher levels of luxury and equipment, while the slightly more powerful MG Metro 1.3 sold as a sports model (0–60 mph in 10.1 seconds, top speed 105 mph). The changes between the MG engine and the standard 1275 included a modified cylinder head, with larger valves and improved porting, altered cam profile and larger carburettor leading to a 20% increase in BHP. soon afterwards a Turbo version of the MG Metro was launched with 93bhp and a top speed of 115mph. Both MG variants were given a "sporty" interior with red seat belts, red carpets and a sports-style steering wheel. The later MG variants were emblazoned with the MG logo both inside and out, A mild facelift in late 1984 saw some minor styling modifications to the Metro's front end, wider suspension subframes, along with a new dashboard design and the Vanden Plas model was also given the more sporty non-Turbo MG Metro engine.

In 2017 Ford of Europe refreshed their Fiesta product. The new model, codenamed B479 replaced the B299 launched in 2008. The B479 continues on the same platform as the B299 and inherits many of the engines and engine families of the previous car.
Headline act is the Fiesta ST with a 150 kW (200PS) version of the 1.5 L GTDi (Ecoboost) 3-cylinder engine. Other Fiesta models have either 3-Cylinder petrol engine in 1.1 L Ti-VCT or 1.0 L Ecoboost (in various power outputs), or a 1.5 L, 4-cylinder diesel.
In addition to the 3 and 5-door hatch bodies, the new Fiesta also has a 'Fiesta Active' version, which is similar to the 5-door hatch, but configured as a higher-riding semi-crossover vehicle. This reflects the trend to this type of vehicle across all size segments.
Shown here is the ST-Line, replacing the previous 'Sport', and capitalising on the strength of the ST sub-brand. The ST-Line has the looks, but is mechanically configured per the other Fiesta models (ST excluded).
